I'm building (assembling) a P51 Mustang. This is the first time I'll be installing an engine inverted (OS95v 4 Stroke). I have 20% nitro 18% synthetic fuel. Are there any tips to setting up an inverted installation?
Fuel tank level,fuel lines, etc

Tom

Keep the fuel tank as level with the needle valve as you can get it.

Have plenty of cooling

That is it, what w8eye said.

I also suggest when not at the flying field is to keep flip the plane inverted and keep the engine upright or pointed nose down. This is to prevent the oil from oozing into the combustion chamber and drowning out the glow plug, Which would cause the glow plug to fail the next time you go to start the engine.

The other trick is to be careful priming the 4 stroke engine when inverted as the fuel does not dribble out of the carb, so a big prime could cause hydraulic lockups or blow out the glow plug on you.

But other than that it is no big deal using them inverted.

I have an FA 150 mouted inverted. I'm running C&H electronic ignition, but fouling the sparkplug is juat as much a concern as a glow plug.

I rotated the engine slightly to have the exhaust valve @ 6:00 o'clock when the plane is sitting level. W/the exhaust pipe running down out of the bottom of the cowl, any oil tends to collect @ the exhaust valve & it is expelled as soon as the engine is turned over.

Here is a pic of my Frenzy 100 with a OS .91 inverted on it. Before I put the cowl on I was flight testing it and breaking in the engine good. I flew it like that for a year or so, then I converted it to electric instead. it needed a little more power, but I didn't have a Saito 1.25 at the time, but I did have a powerful big brushless motor though.
