I have a problem with my new ST 90.

There seems to be a problem with the carb; it does not closes fully. The groove in the "barrel" (dunno if this is the right word... I mean the thing that rotates in the carb to allow +/- of airflow) in which a screw sits to limit its travel seems to be misplaced.
The result is that the screw reaches the end of the groove before the carb is fully closed, thus preventing a slow idle (I bench ran the engine). Also, the carb opens too much (when the carb is fully open, I can still move it)

I hope you get what I'm trying to explain...

Is this a known problem ? Is there an easy solution, or should I bring it back to my LHS, or send it for service under warranty ?

Status: offline 		Hi airnut, I had the same problem on two ST carbs. I used a dremel tool and routed out the groove so the barrel would move far enough. Other fellas have grounded off half of the tip of the screw, so the barrel would close. I prefer to route out the groove farther, rather than chance weakening the screw tip.

Status: offline 		I did not have this problem but i chucked it anyways and installed a Perry#4500. Slides right in with no adapter sleeve.
