Status: offline 		Howdy folks. Is there a kit out there that would lend itself to twin Saito 62's? I already have the engines, have built several kits, but have yet to tackle a twin. My building and flying skills are good. Let me know what you think? Thanks!

I have the same engines...and just bought a Hangar 9 twin otter....great looking plane...
You have to make some small modifications to make the engines fit...

Status: offline 		The Twotter from H9 is a great plane, but I don't think it would benefit from the bigger engines. It flies in a beautiful scale fashion with the EVO 36 2-strokes that are recommended. If you have to mess up the cowlings just to stuff in bigger engines it seems a waste. People have put in smaller 4-strokes but I don't see the point in over-powering this bird.

Status: offline 		My first twin was a "bash" of the old Midwest Strikemaster to a twin after having flown it for a long time as a single. Cut the wing in half, added a foot of 16" of new center section and nacelles. Two Super Tigre .35's. Flew great. Next was a Super Kaos modified similarly with 2 .46's. Then a Direct Connection Sea Fury with 2 OS .52 4 stokes that looks like a Russian WWII dive bomber. If you like aerobatics you could do the same with a Dirty Birdy kit from Bluejay models. Picture of the bashed Kaos and Sea Fury flying together.

@fledermaus. ( bat.  :-)   ...the 4 strokes in the twin otter are great...the sound of 2 four strokes is so much better than the 2 strokes.
The .62 saito fits inside the cowlings...no problem...and they don't have to run at full power...just half throttle and it flies  just fine. The fuel consumption is also very low...so you fly longer, and with better/less noise as with the 2strokes. :-)

Status: offline 		@korvette - fair enough as long as the 0.62s fit in the cowl. I had the 2-strokes sitting in the shop when I did my Twotter, so I stayed with them. No argument about the sound.

Status: offline 		Would prefer a kit, definitely. I was thinking the Top Flite DC-3, but would love to hear suggestions for kits that might be a little more rare. Thanks for the input so far guys, keep it coming! Any good KITS out there for two homeless Saito 62's?

Status: offline 		So far, the only twin kits I've found are for bigger engines except the TF DC-3 and the Royal C-47 which is almost the same plane than the TF DC3 (btw they recommend two .40 to .52 cu. in. 4-stroke for the DC-3).
It looks like there's many ARF and only few kits on the market. I hope someone will be able to provide you a better choice.

I took the twin otter and reworked it to suit my own taste. I striped the covering, glassed and painted it and converted it from A DHC6-300 to a -100 (1966 snub nose). The model came in just under 15lbs (+/- 3lbs over the standard arf) The FA62's are a perfect match for the heavier airframe. Although, I had to do quite a bit of rework to the nacelles to fit them in.
