Funnily enough, there is...exactly what you are looking for...

Thunder Tiger MT4 G3.

I own a modded Savage Flux, and I wish I'd bought the Thunder Tiger (it wasn't out when I bought the Flux).

It's based on a rock solid truggy which is why its so much better than other MTs...

it seems like it sits a little lower to the ground then the flux. Doesnt seem like it should be an issue

I think if you are in rough dirt, the MT4 may not handle it quite as well as the flux, but as far as the street and any surface that isnt badly rutted out or clodded up, the MT4 will handle better and be easier to drive.

Admittedly not having either, I can't imagine the Flux outhandling the MT4 G3 on any surface.. Why would it? It's a Savage, being compared to a truck based on a truggy.. The MT4 looks pretty stable in most videos I've seen, and Savages have always been anything but..

not a fair comparison IMO
comparing a truggy without a wing, and bigger tires to a truck designed to be big, and handle like a monster truck

I'm a huge fan of my losi 5ive.... It brings a new meaning to handling

It absolutely killed a brushless hyper 10tt at my local track...

Because the flux has more ground clearance in the center at least. I have run my truggy enough to know that on smoother surfaces it is pretty hard to beat, but playing around on clodded dirt piles and things, its not hard to high center it on a dirt clod. The MT's have a little more clearance and that helps them in that area IMO.

I think the MT4 has big enough tires to give it the clearance it needs for bashing pretty much anywhere.. I think if you get into really rough clumpy stuff the Savage will have no advantages over the flat chassis which will slide over dirt clumps and stuff. Even doing really slow crawling - which is not really bashing anyway IMO, if anything I think the MT4 will have the advantage just in that it won't roll or flip over so easily..

I know that sounds different from my normal arguments that MT's are more versatile offroad than truggies, but the tires on the MT-4 are ginormous compared to normal racing truggy tires..(The suspension looks different too, with a racing truggy sagging more as well probably..) Whatever the case, this is an old and annoying discussion about truggies vs. MT's, and it's not my intention to get into it again. Just saying, the MT4 has a truggy chassis, but the enormous tires basically give it the clearance of an MT. So I think it'd bash more like one..

ground clearance only matters if your into slow speed crawling....if you go over 10 MPH the truggy will eat a MT alive on any surface...........not even a comparison ! MT's handle like totasl crap and will be lying upside down if you try to go over any rough stuff at anything over 10 MPH>..the truggy can blast over it at 40 MPH and not break a sweat.......

Cummins driver I watched your truggy video and I don't think your test was subjective...all you did was put around at ultra low speeds trying to get the truggy to get hung up...you werent exploring what the truggy could do, but rather trying your hardest to show what a truggy couldn't do....lame if you ask me !!!!!!

iif your into crawling buy a crawler

if your into wrenching , fixxing and tinkering buy a MT

if your into driving, going fast, climbing hills, taking big air then buy a Truggy

I have had all 3 and without question prefer a Truggy...crawlers are too slow , MT's are just too slow, cumbersome and unreliable

if your into tractor pulls buy a MT

I grew up racing quads, snowmobiles and dirtbikes....spent most of my life on some form of offroad machine or another...and only the truggy offers me the intense driving experience I crave as a speed freak......

I definitely disagree.  My MT4 handles rough terrain beautifully.  The places it starts to get challenged are places a Summit or Crawler would be better off attempting.

I do agree with you that it handles better and is easier to drive.  I don't spend most of my time running out to the truck to flip it back on its tires.

Ok, that fine if you guys disagree.

I have run my truggy with truggy tires, and with MT tires. Call it crawling if you want, but if you are out at the construction site bashing, there are going to be some dirt clods and ruts and IMO (MY opinion) the truggy based r/c's are not as good for that. Suspension travel and ground clearance suffers some compared to most MT's.

can't argue that
when I drive my RC's up curbs (and yes they are taken slow seeing if you hit a curb with any speed with any RC it will trash it) the savage, and wheely king are the only 2 that I own that do not get stuck cause the curve in the center. Everything else of mine gets stuck on the plate even my jammin X1 crt that I have MT tires on, and set up more like that MT4.

Side note this whole argument over what is better is getting extremely repetative, and boring. Lets face it every RC has its place some can overlap but one will excel at somethign the other can do but isn't the best. If MT's were as bad at evertthing as some people like to let on lets face it HPI wouldn't make savages anymore, and would only sell the trophy truggy.

Seriously why even bother just save the URL to one of the old ones, and post that seeing the same exact arguments are getting used over, and over, and over again.

I used to love seeing videos with silliness like Slapmafro launching onroaders off of ramps...

I.e. run and do whatever you want...

Either one would be about as durable as the other, so its basically up to your budget and preferences. You will enjoy the handling of the MT4 more than the savage without a doubt, and with truggy wheels, the MT4 will handle very very good. It will definately be easier to drive than the savage. Just pick the one you like the looks and price of the best

Thats my point exactly. I enjoy wathing my r/c's claw their way up hills at a slow speed. Not exactly crawling, because wheel speed is needed, but its quite different from hitting it wide open and jumping over the other side. Some places you cant go fast either, my truggy and my savage neither one take kindly to hitting a 5" deep, 4" wide washout at the rock quarry with any speed. Those are the times I go slow.

So true. There are too many people happy with their savages and other MT's.

Regardless, I wasnt trying to argue earlier, just pointed out the differences that I personally see. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and basically if you are having fun, then you are doing it right...

It was lame of me to post a video of myself having fun with my truggy? I was pretty impressed with how it climbed the sand pile. Believe me, if i was trying to make the truggy look bad, I would have. I simply posted the video for others to watch if they wanted to; not to prove anything.
