Am building an old model I have had for some time it is a 2.6m RF5B motorglider and  I intend to electrify.  It will weigh a max of 3.1kg maybe a bit less when I determine motor/battery/UC etc.

Would like to make the UC retractable. I am aware of the more dedicated glider retracts but they are more expensive and would be difficult to install in this fuse. The actual scale of the RF5B is approx. 1/6.5 and the wheel size is 50mm or approx 2"

Would one of these work for a mono wheel setup. I assume the the 90 deg rotation can be turned off? The blurb says it's ok for a model < 4.7 Kg but I assume that would be for a trigear setup and not 4.7Kg per unit.

Has anyone actually used one of these servoless systems or something similar

Iwould assume that you cannot turn off the twist. It is almost certinly gear driven to twist the leg as the wheel retracts.
