I ordered a set of plans from RCM Plans 23 days ago. I have not received the plans as yet and they ignored the 2 emails I sent them. I've had good service from them in the past. Has anybody run into this situation recently.

You'll get your plans, they are pretty slow. I understand that an older woman runs the show.

Unfortunately, the same thing happened to me. I ordered plans in early December and when I inquired about them in early January (about 4 weeks), they had 'just been shipped'. And, I got them.

Then, I ordered another set of plans. My card was charged instantly but still no plans. After 2 weeks, I emailed and got a reply asking if I had received the plans. I said that I had not and that I wanted a refund. I did get the refund. Strangely, I got an email a few days later asking if I had received my plans after all (I hadn't). I replied that they had not arrived - and to this day they have never shown up. But I have to admit that the person was honest and did refund my $$.

I think that, if I ever buy plans again, I will put a note in to the comments field that my card may not be charged until the plans have actually been sent out. I don't know if this is possible or legal, but it's what I intend to do - if there is a next time.

I feel badly because RCM was always such a top notch magazine. But, twice in a row I've not had good luck with them. I hope that they can turn this around.

Perhaps the person who owns RCM Plans now will monitor this and explain what the problem is. I'd like to support their product because they had so many first rate plans available.

Bob

My guess is that you are about 10 days away from getting those plans, seems like the running average is a few days over a month. Once they arrive they will be quality plans....but man the lead time you have to give RCM is a real pain. If someone would respond to an email or phone call it would help prevent that feeling that you had just got scammed on the internet right!

Yep, they are really slow. I waited almost 6 weeks for mine, but they did show up. Seems that emails and phone calls are a waste of time and I never even bothered trying. I allways try to order plans WAYYYYY in advance so that they show up when Im ready for them. Steve in MT

It is just a part time gig run by the last employee of RCM. If they are not one of the more popular ones that are batch printed, you have to wait in the que.

Well, I finally heard from RCM Plans, They said they were "Updateing" (?) the plans and they would ship in the next few days. They did apologise for the dely. My order status is now"processing and shipping" Looks like ," A month and ten days for delivery " was right on the mark.

Thanks for all the input, guys. It's eased the pain of waiting.

I ordered plans for the Bird of Time on 8th May 2012 and still have not received them. I live in the Uk and was putting it down to the postal system until I got another item within a week from the States. emailed them today.

Hi, I'm in Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada. I have to wait at least 4-5 weeks for plans from RCM plans. Give it another two weeks.

I buy a lot of plans from them and the word slow always comes to mine but they always get here.

Thanks for the encouragement. There's always a reason as to why we are made to wait.

You'll get them...

It took 6 weeks for them to pull my Dirty Birdy plans. They emailed me as soon as they were printed. It took three days to get to me from that point.

The plans are worth the wait, but it is a frustrating wait.

Hang in there!

Brian

In the "Questions and Answers" topic, I started a thread a while ago making my complaints about RCM plans service. After a more carefull search, I discovered this thread.
Now, all my questions found an answer. It seems that they are very slow. The short story with my case is that I ordered the Gentle Lady plans 12 days ago and my order is still "processing and shipping", with no reply to a message I sent them.
And if you guys say that you received your orders after one month and 10 days in US, then I can imagine how long it will take to receive them in Greece...!

I received some plans on Tuesday that I ordered from the UK from the old RCM&E catalog, a prop jet Bae Hawk, on October 14th. 2-1/2" weeks not too bad.

Just to clarify things, Jim was referring to the English magazine RCME now called RC Model Aeroplane in USA. This English magazine is still going strong and usually has a free pull out plan each month. All the RCME plans and also Radio Modeller, Scale Aicraft, X List plans and the old Aeromodeller plans are still available from [link]http:http://www.myhobbystore.co.uk]MyHobbyStore.co.uk in England. Note that most English plans dont come with the original article unless you order it and pay extra. But there is a large number of great plans still available.

( Jim did you get the article I sent on the Hawk? )
