Im surprised that the prop pattern are different than the DA 100 & DA120... I would have thought htey kept it the same.. oh well.

I hope this will be a cool and powerful engine. looking forward to flying my 100cc in the neasr future.

Status: offline 		maybe 100+ rpm's,i still think it will improve a little when the ring fully seats.i ran the 60 from day one on redline @ 32-1, now with four gals. of fuel the ring still shows dark spots, meaning that it is still not broke in.despite what EME and Frank Bowman says to break in on dino oil.the last time i flew it it was on pennzoil @ 32-1 and i will stay there till it fully breaks in.one thing i did notice is that i lost 75 rpm's when switching to dino oil.
a friend has just bought a DA60 with a Falcon 24-9 prop,now i can compare the two with the same prop,if i can talk him into trying out the prop.
i will let you know what happens with the 24-9 prop.
one more thing the engine is smoothing out nice at idle,but it never shook to begin with.now it is just starting to rip the the Xoar 23-8 and i will stay with this prop,i like the speed and the FAST vertical climbs,unless the Falcon 24-9 can beat the Xoar.

Status: offline 		cool, thanks I was also thinking of getting the falcon, that will be interesting to note. I have a DA60, and I want to get EME 60 for the EF edge that I missed out on.
it would be a great comparison if you can steal the prop from your friend for an Hour....lol ....if you like it dont give it back.

Status: offline 		by the way where do you get your Dino oil from, I never heard of it. I usually only use stihl HP ultra at 40:1

Status: offline 		dino oil just refers to old school petroleum based oil as opposed to the newer synthetics. There's always debate as to whether using dino oil for a little while when new will speed up or enhance the break in process. The top notch synthetics are so slippery that things do not wear quick enough to break in.

Status: offline 		i should have said i used pennzoil air cooled for break in,but around hear it is getting very hard to find.you can use any air cooled oil,even K Mart brand air cooled 2 stroke oil.

Status: offline 		You need to read the info though and make sure you are not buying a full synthetic oil. You will notice that the dino oils run a little dirtier and build up some carbon as compared to the synthetics too.

Status: offline 		for my DLE 55 I ran stihl Hp from day 1 at 40:1. and yes it took me around 6 gallons to feel a reliable idle... It never died on me once.

aI did that for 4x DLE 55. but i might try the Dino oil if I go EME just to break it in fast.....

I noticed the  Lathe,   not a   CNC,   looks older than I am.    In the second picture,  evidently the guy is testing cylinders,  look at all the crap on the table,  and the stuff in the background.   And the  single employee  assembling engines.   No one else in the background,  one white glove,  and only  two engines in sight.  And the last photo,   get a look at the table the  test stand is mounted to.     A couple of  cut   2x4's  and the rest    un cut  logs.     I've got a feeling that  about  an equal amount of money went into    Research and Developement as did in  facility  equipment furnishings.   

Not  impressed at all.

Status: offline 		There is a whole thread about oil in the gas forum. That Pennzoil air cooled dino oil has an almost cult-like following it is so good. I think I will use that to break in my DLE and XYZ 20cc engines with a Bowman ring.

it's the end product that counts. as long as the EME60 runs neck and neck to the DA60 and it does from the rpm's i have seen, i am happy with that.it is smoother than the DA60's i have seen run too.my only concern is the lower rod bearing and crank pin holding up,time will tell.

Status: offline 		I have the 55MkII, it has a swept volume of 53.2cc from my measurements. Not what you wanted. I'm looking at the 120 for a tug, but I do like my DA120 that is in another.

Status: offline 		well i got to fly the EME60 today with a Falcon 24-9 prop @ 6570 rpm and 31.5lbs of thrust.i like it a lot now i need to go out and buy one,a friend let me try his out.performance of the Falcon 24-9 is real close to the Xoar 23-8 that i like on this plane and engine.as far as i can tell the EME60 gets about 300 less rpm's than the DA60 with this Falcon prop.

Status: offline 		the Falcon 24X9 sounds like the winner. for 3d its nicer to have more air over the surfaces. I read on the threads that the 24x9 is the ticket for the DA60 as well for those into 3d.
I have to pick 2 props for my self now.

Only one thing I cannot understand, why did EME make the prop bolts different than the regular 100cc-120cc motors.
just like Arizonaflyer mentioned, he had to buy a new prop. so if you have current 100cc props you cannot use them on the EME120.

Status: offline 		That is a pain, but I have a few spare I can drill. If I get time tomorrow I'll put it on my run rig. Only proves it will start and run though. The finish is good but not perfect. The 55II I have is extremely good. Still far better than some other brands I've seen, if the outside is good I have a bit more confidence about the inside. Time will tell.
