Yea the x445 should be a bit better prop for the .46 the 440 is a .18\.21 prop normally. Make sure you Sharpen and Balance it or get one already finished, Never run a raw prop it will destroy your drive line very quickly.

Well, here is how the boat looks now. The engine is in and tested and I am now nearing completion on the radio installation. I have ordered the replacement rudder assembly and a new Octura 445 prop. I think the restoration came out pretty good considering I only paid $30 for the boat. I can't wait to put this one in the water and see what she will do.

I really liked the look.
Have you measured the center of gravity, all assembled ?

Thanks Craig, and Carlos, I'm kind of disappointed because this project will soon be complete and now I need another one!

Regarding the CG, since I restored this boat I did not have the original plans or any plans for that matter. I'm really not too sure where the CG would be. The Skeg is placed mid hull (under the engine) and when the boat is floating, balance seems to be okay not too bow heavy etc. If it's anything like my 1:1 Wellcraft, I can adjust weight after I run it shifting weight around and adjusting as necessary depending on how well the boat performs, turns etc. I guess the proper way to check the CG would be to have the location of where the CG is on the Dumas SK-Daddle and then balance from there. Does anyone have an idea as to where that may be on this boat measuring from the transom forward of course? Thanks for the help and good question.

Most vee hulls balance out at between 30 and 34% forward of the transom though, in this case, it could be different due to the hull design

Boat came out great. Unfortunately I've shelved it for now it just looks real nice! I'm in the process of leaving the military in a few months so I have not been able to test the boat other than running the engine which runs great. I may take my full size boat out one more time this year and take the skdaddle along! I'll post pictures if I do. Thanks for asking, let me know how your boat comes along.
