OOPS, i bought a OFNA monster pirate ebay LATE last night i *thought* i bid $11 for the heck of it, but i added another 0.

anyhow, i now have to sell my Traxxas T-Maxx, which has been trusty for a few years, is this truck a improvement over the traxxas? my traxxas has a modified picco .15 and full RPM arms, i have a nice 9.5 buggy that is tough as nails but is this the same way?

Thanks! arrrg.

Yep I've had an ofna pirate,
mine was a kit version with a 2 speed centre diff type gearbox,
These trucks are very strong trucks,
quite fun to run but require an engine like a 28 as the 21 size motors struggle with the weight of the tires,

Wish I hadn't sold mine,
hope to get another some day and put either a pro70 engine or mgt 8.0 motor in it,

Just tear the truck down and check diffs for oil and shim them properly,

other than that the pirate mt Is a breeze to maintain,

Enjoy your new truck.

sweeeet that means i can fit just about any BB motor on there

so sad these where never hot, looks like a better platform than traxxas especially of the day, and had true BB engines stock, just shows what marketing or the lack thereof can do.

UMM, I think one of the cars (two almost complete rollers) is a monster blazer... that would be cool, i have TONS of spares for 9.5's

anyone know anything about them?

I've no personal experience with them, but I heard they were hugely underrated and are great cars. Got pics?

hey fox, one is a flippin exceed tecktonic and the other one is a dominator.

The dominator is fine since its just a updated pirate, but the exceed... i finally figured it out yesterday that it was not a blazer but instead a exceed, HOWEVER it looks like a full blown clone, everything, the supports, the chassis the diffs, the rear arms, the brakes, the servo tray, the sway bars, the only thing that seems different is the shock towers, front lower arms and the diff covers have external screws on one side instead of recessed.

I will see when i get them, im pretty confident that the exceed is 100% compatible with ofna, if thats the case i have extra diffs, arms, and shock towers.

my stomach is contorting because im worried about the cars and since i bought them i MUST sell my T-Maxx, and i pretty much love that thing.

OH GOD i feel sick.... The two cars that came where so incredibly hacked and beat....

the ofna is missing dogbones, HUGE chunks of what used to be part of the chassis plate where drilled out, front diff snapped, wrong suspension system used up front, the exceed was again missing huge chunks of chassis (by the motor) the motor pull start shaft missing- cant run like that, front diff screwed, wrong center diff dogbone used, motor will not line up with chassis OR spur, wrong suspension used, screws missing, nasty bolts and washers used.

there is literally nothing usable on both of these cars.... nothing! not worth $20... guys, i seriously have had bad luck for almost a year, and I mean everything has gone wrong, especially unemployment.

shiver me timbers! I'm going to get back me booty! ARRRG

I hope it wasn't someone on RCU, that person should be ashamed for selling those trucks, they are not even parts trucks, they are scrap metal

I'm very wary when buying used RC's, because the only reason I will sell one of mine is if the cost to repair price is close to something a like.
