Finally, after a few months the Seagull Ultimate 90 is about to hit the bench. My new DLA 32 showed up today and after giving her a quick once over I moved the throttle and man oh man is that sucker hard to move!
It has ultra smooth action so I am quite sure it is not binding. It is just some intense spring pressure.

Do you guys alter that return spring or just put a super stout servo on it for the throttle?

Thanks!

Leave the spring on, just disconnect it so it is loose. Someone will chime in saying you should leave it hooked up, though...

DO NOT REMOVE THE SPRING. The spring is also the spacer that keeps the throttle flap in proper alignment. Just unhook the spring.

Leave it hooked. Any standard sized servo will work. The throttle will return to idle.

Thanks guys. It just seems like quite a bit of pressure for a servo to be working against in flight.
Maybe a longer throttle lever would be in order for a better leverage ratio?

When I set up an engine I remove the throttle and chocke arms.I  replace them each with a steering control arm.

I have seen photos with what looks like glass arms on the throttle & choke. Are these fabricated, or can they be purchased?
