Selby/Johns A6 With Behotec 300. Scratch built

This A-6 looks amazing! Actually, it looks like the full sized A-6 in every picture. There isn't a thing about it that gives it away as an R/C jet in any picture unless someone stands next to it. Even more amazing is that it is scratch built. So, for a first-of-its-kind, it came out perfect in every detail. If this guy ever puts this jet into production, I'd buy one.

Airplanes400, the A-6 will be available from Mibo Jets as a kit. Was talking to Mike Selby about it this weekend in his tent. Bogo from Mibo was also "in the house". Check the Mibo website.

I fully agree about this plane and this picture. It deserves to be here and incorporated into this topic. Gary, Brian, and all the others that put their efforts and details into this Corsair, did an amazing job !! It looks great and flys great. It has many firsts-of-its-kind ... machine guns with smoke, actual intake grills in the wings, electric folding wings, complete documentation and accuracy down to the cover plates with screws, access panels, etc.
Another masterpiece!

And another thing ...

The grass runway has improved greatly from just a few months ago. Nice job, Frank! All that money you put into it is really paying off.

We can now deduct several things ...
1- Frank spends a lot of money on his grass.
2- Frank has some very expensive grass.
3- Frank grows the best grass.

All joking aside ... Great job on improving the condition of the runway beyond anyone's expectations in such a short time.

Lets see,

From what I remember, Turbines won 1st, 3rd and 5th in Pro-Am Sportsman, 1st, 2nd and 3rd in Pro-Am Pro, BVM Mig EDF 5th.

1st and 3rd in Team, 1st and 2nd (2nd a BVM EDF) in Expert ETC ETC ETC.

I know Jack Diaz won big, Ali won big and overall it was a great day for the Kero burners and BVM EDFs.

Way to go guys and way to go Frank...Top Gun 2012 was simply awesome.

Beave

PS. I've probably got some of this incorrect (scoring wise) but at least I painted a crude picture of how the event went.

Well done to all those who took part, it looks to have been a great event, one day I will take time to come over to see those incredible airplanes, and the masters who build and fly them.

For me the one thing which sets the A6 and others apart is the 'lack of' linkages hanging down under control surfaces, maybe the pictures are just shot at the right angles but no linkages means scale looking for me.
I would like to know how these are tackled in the confines of relatively small spaces especially as I am about to embark on a 1/3 or 1/3.5 scale jet build - any tips and info really appreciated, naturally not on this thread but links or PM's welcome.

For edfs to have placed well the static and flying must have been very good as I wouldn't think they would score well in realism in flight but maybe not part of the judging in USA

They don't judge the 'sound' of the aircraft.

Best of all (IMO) about the A6 with that big Behotec 300 in it... it sounded real as well! Simply amazing airplane in person. We didn't take many photos but I'll admit, I was the one walking around with my tongue hanging out and my tail wagging like a happy dog!

Some amazing airplanes and some equally amazing flying!

Was it a Behotec as I am not sure they make a 300N turbine (might be wrong) or is it actually a BF Turbines B300F (not to be confused with Behotec) - its a P200 sized turbine with certification for use with manned aircraft with over 300N of power - amazing unit.
