Lots of unanswered, take the time and support the forums. A lot of them are really general knowledge for most here, but dont get burned out on helping. Sure theres been a billion questions on motor heat, or batteries for a mini revo, but the fact is theres still new people here that dont know.  And search??? Right. You search brushless motor heat, see what you get, every post under the sun, but none have the answer.

Lets support this place, my experience is if you dont support it, it wont be there to support you. Plus its the new members that make this site better, you think the admin would keep this place if there were no growth, or at least sustenance???

Thanks for viewing this post

Some forums are busier than others some years or some times of the year. Not much happening on the mini scene since the releases of the mini 8 and Flux XS, so activity in this forum is dying down a bit. It's normal. I'm expecting increased activity in the 1/8th forums soon as there are a number of model updates either just our or coming soon. tis the way of things...

Well to be fair sometimes the search isn't even needed.
I've also seen people ask about a battery for an RC when the 3rd topic down was the SAME exact question on the same exact RC, and the people get mad when they just get a link to the thread where its been answered already.

Will agree though the search on this site is 100% worthless why I just use google with "site:rcuniverse.com" after my search query when I want info from the forum
I've searched for posts I made with the exact phrase I used in the topic as my search and got everything but my post. Typed the same exact query in google (not even using the site: part) and it was the 1st result

Those 111 views could have been the OP himself. RCU does not count unique hits, it counts all hits.

Sounds like bs to me, why try to diffuse a thread that is meant to remind others to help?
Does two an a half weeks sound better to you, why should basic info be withheld that long, why not help these people out??

What about that post about spares for an rc182?? No one can tell him the basic spares he'll need? They are the same for every vehicle on the market, front upper and lower arms, knuckles, and tires.

To be honest I avoided some question, I like to help out with the more technical questions or even learn new things my self.
Don't want to offend anyone but I steer clear from threads that the OP could of worked out for them self with a simple search on google.
These days computer and search engine skills come in very handy when it comes to r/c's
U can't remind people to help... Not everyone here is willing to help. And foxy is right, this thread is not as popular as others...

no they aren't the same as every vehicle on the market. Honestly if someone asks something very specific about a model that I don't have(or have one closely related to) I won't reply to it cause I don't give bogus info.

Example on parts not the same on models.
My MT2 weakness yes is the knuckles that is the trucks main weakness due to the screws stripping out I will tell ppl to buy the aluminum right of the bat.
Savage only issue I ever had was the rear carrier being a royal PITA I'd recommend that aluminum
Tamiya DF-02 weakest part is the chassis hub for the arms(one hit just right will snap the chasis upgrade is $3 in parts and 10 mins), followed by the shock towers (which will work but recomend a aluminum sandwich upgrade)
Jammin crt.5 weakest part (that I found) C-hub, followed by the steering setup
HPI recon I'd recommend replacing everything except the radio. The whole RC is weak from the shock towers, to the diffs to the steering servo.

I can keep going but as you can see those trucks don't really share weaknesses so giving a blanket statement is not practical. Also outside the MT2 stripping out the knuckles (this does seem to be a wide spread issue), and the Tamiya DF-02's are pretty common, The others I had are not that common from what I've discussed with other owners like the crt.5 I talked to 4 other owners and none of them split the C-hubs in half.

Also front upper and lower arms needing spares? My Tamiya is 2 years old, and is on the stock arms. Same with savage that I mentioned earlier on stock knuckles, and arms. My jammin ok I did break an arm on one but that was after an extremely bad hit goin 40 mph... As for tires I wouldn't say order them ahead of time I say wait drive it (you are not going to smoke the tires in a day) and see if it handles as wanted if not then get a different thread on the tire don't just go ordering new tires off the bat.
Also I'd just say if the arm breaks get the RPM one on an RC182 they are not that expensive (probably near the cost of stocks)

and agree with phmaximus I stopped answering a fair bit of questions cause honestly I've seen a trend and don't feel like wasting my time. Example the ppl asking what RC would be good, and mention one they semi like that is close to what they want. They then say they want ideas then after 4 pages with some solid recommendations buy the cheapest POS (what they originally liked) than 2-3 weeks later they start complaining it breaks all the time, and the hobby is a money pit. Or the person that asks for advice then ignores the most solid advice in the thread cause it goes against their vision, and go with the most idiotic advice given cause it coincides with what they want to hear.

Now if you want to see unpopular forums look at the Nitro Stadium trucks one if you get an answer in a week that is fast

I see a lot of people say just "google it" on forums. For me, the point of visiting a forum is to get human interaction and
tips beyond what a mechanical search can provide. Please don't take this the wrong way, what may seem like an obvious search to an experienced RC person can be a confusing experience for a newbie. Especially if you are in the panic mode. I have had many google searches end up on forums with no answers or just dead ends. This seems like a great forum with lots of potential. I hope to gain some knowledge
about 1/18 scale cars so I can pass it on, even if it is repetitive or trivial.

Still doesn't change the fact that many of these questions have been answered on this and other places countless times. The reason why I posted so few questions when I was new was because I could find the answers on google. Not only is it faster than posting and waiting for a reply, but you can check multiple threads on multiple forums for more information and opinions than you will likely get in one thread.

I agree with what you say and some people are lazy BUT if you know where you've seen info before or something that may help, it may encourage new guys to check things out just by a few clicks of the mouse and giving them the link.

I've only just started with the micro stuff and there is lots I need to know, some help to find things every now and again is a real help.

You missed the point of what I was saying, which was simply that the number of views does not necessarily reflect the number of people who have actually viewed the thread. This is a fact, and not 'bs'. I inferred nothing more than that. I agree that people with experience with these models should try to stick their head in and help.

That is so true. Please remember, what seems like a worn out trivial question to an experienced RCer can be a
source of confusion to someone just starting out. There is nothing worse than seeing a bunch of people staring at
your post and no one steps up to answer

I respect your opinion and excellent points. You are right that you cant complain. Also no one is obliged to do anything but lurk. Perhaps it is taxing to constantly answer the same questions repeatedly. With all of the people lurking, there should be enough people to jump in and contribute. I am following the OP who put out a call for anyone who can help to do so. Seems like this helps the whole forum, not just the poster. If new folks see little dialog then they may give up and leave. Sometimes reaching out and going the extra mile is not always fun but it helps. If there are no dialogs then what good is a forum? I do not mean to offend in any way.
