I still don't understand how the geometry works with a servo arm shorter than the stabilator horn. With everything rigid, something must be moving or bending?

EDIT I think I get it, it can't be a pull pull with the pushrods, but just a normal pushrod on one side, I am slow on the uptake!

I'll take 12 seconds any day to know the gear are going up and coming down. Alot more scale as well.

Mr MAtt...on this system if you only use one push rod in the mechanism, it starts to flex where the servo mounts. i kinda made this pic to illustrate what happens when all is put together, and where it flexes when you use one arm...also that's just the scratch of modifications that had to be done to get the geometry right.

no fender, i didn't add any weight or balanced the stab, i felt that having it be heavier on the trailing edge would be better than it balance. when air flow is going over the stab the servo would have an easier time finding center, but if it's balance the servo is going to fight to find center. they way they made it, looks more like an AOA indicator...it lets the wind find nuetral, or like a weather vane...

For Sure......After Kentucky my f-14 GEARS are going to down and locked....cause the pneumatic system is NOT effective enough. On the Tomcat i have 4 medium size air tanks and 1 small one. i have to have 120 psi to get the mains in or they have a hard time retracting. cant wait to get my electrics.... electric avenue.....

The F-16 is prime for this application, I think something that has a lot of gear doors, like the F-15, F-18 will be interesting to see how its done all electric.
I really like my electric gear on the f-16.

They haven't developed any but the f16 so far give it a few months

Hi,

What happened with the Tomcat in the video??

I think the F-14 crash in the video was Bryce's from several years back. His was not an FEJ, it was a Jetmart, I believe. The car in the picture is Uncle Joe's and that's Uncle Joe in the video helping pick up the pieces. Uncle Joe hasn't lived in an area where green grass grows for quite some time now...

Hi,

Cool, but what happened?? Anyone know? It looks like the starboard wing was retracting as it went in. What was the cause of the crash?

hey mav my F-14 scheme has the speed brake area painted red on the insdie, the insides of the slats/flaps/spoilers will be red as well and I plan on doing the same as you have done for gear doors. The red outline really sets things off, I noticed you have the bottom missile rails on can you take a pic of that area? I am planning to glue mine on from the get go. Looks good hos it flying for you?
this is how mine will look once complete

yea, fender....i screwed up...didn't have a reference to go by, but noticed that the whole airbrake and spoilers are red completely.. i'll fix that this weekend. she is flying awesome, but still pulls to the right. she is balance perfectly lateral and pitch. can't figure it out. fixed the swept wing problem....it wasn't the esc as originally thought, it was a diode that was on the wire which controlled the proximity switch. so as soon as the weather here in Florida gets better going to attempt the first swept wing flight.

will let you know and will try to get it on video....

also might change the swept wing motor to a more powerful traxx motor with higher torque.
