I am still looking for a motor for my BUSA 1/4 J3 Cub..  Has any body had any thing to do with Hobby King   and the ASP Twin Four Stroke   FT 160 AR Twin Cyl Glow  ?   It Sells for $358.19    That sounds too good to be true ...Acording to the reviews it is a fine little motor that should fit my Cub just about rite...Thanks for any input

Go gas young man and you will never regret it. The DLE 20 would fly it very scale and for $ 260.00 you can't go wrong. Hobby King is very flakey at best in my opin.

If you want a great twin 4 stroke go with a OS gemini 160 twin . It's perfect for a 1/4 scale Cub.
Sometimes you can find a good deal on a used one . I would by a used OS before I would by any engine from HK

The ASP 1.60 twin is the same as the Magnum version. I have the Masgnum in a 1/4 scale Spacewalker II.

My Magnum runs very well, and is more than enough power for my SW.

I'm not a Hobby King advocate, but the price is similar to what I paid, a few years ago. If you feel comfortable in dealing with HK, I believe that the ASP will serve you well.

I'v delt with Hobby King a few times over the years, never had a problem with them. Shipping takes about 2 weeks on the cheaper route. For $358, the ASP 160 twin looks mightey attrctive, I have a Magnum 91 four stroke and it's a good run'er, if the ASP is the same engine under another name, should be no problem

Only Thing Is There Out Of STOCK!!!

I also have the Magnum 160 twin.

I usually preach the 'you get what you pay for' line but the two chinese engines
I own have given good service. Both were bought at prices I could not refuse, the
other being a Magnum 108.

The 160 does take a bit of fiddling to get running properly but can give satisfactory results.

If you expect an O.S. for half price you will be disappointed but if you would be happy with
half an O.S. for half price I don't think you will be disappointed.

Compared to a 4 stroke twin...... in a Cub?

John.

Personally, I have had my eye on this engine as well. Right now I don't need it but just picked up a Dynaflite Decathlon which would go well with this engine. I bought stuff from them in the past and used PayPal and EMS Shipping without a problem. All of the orders took less than 2 weeks and tracked my order all the way to my local post office.
Here is what I do: If I see something I like, I read the reviews and then go on YouTube and see if I can find a video of the same product. There are plenty of vids of this running so maybe that'll help you decide.

Here's a start>

Thankyou very much for your replys..I have a request for them to notify me when they are back in stock and I think I am going to give one a try..Its hard to turn my nose up at the price..I have a buddy who is a wizzard at tuning motors so he should be a big help when the time comes...I will make a glow driver that comes on at low throttle operated by its own battery...This motor has 1/4 scale Cub written all over it...

The 1.60 Twin is the perfect match for the 1/4 scale cub. However, I would vote for OS over ASP or Magnum any day. I had a Magnum 1.60 Twin and must admit that it ran and sounded great and I was a fan of them for a year or two. That is until the screw holding the connecting rod on snapped and it threw the rod through the crankcase about 30 feet up on take off, costing me a scale plane I had close to 1000 hours building time on. The quality control and metals used in the clones is not up to the same standards as OS. You don't always get what you pay for but you virtually never get what you didn't pay for.
