Status: online 		Wow, you know what the most striking point to come out of this whole situation is? So many people are willing to accept a damaged product because they payed a little less for it. I don't care what he price is, do not just accept the fact that it was not delivered as expected. It is at some point that we once again become people and not sheeple! Stop accepting sub par service as the norm. If thats the best they can do then they need to try and do something else. Heck, you can get cheaper stuff that is slightly damaged from Tower Hobbies. Just shop in the "Stratch and Dent" section.

Status: offline 		I got a RCGF 15cc gas engine 2 months ago and the box was fine. The engine had a busted carb. I contacted support with a ticket and waited 2 weeks for a reply. They asked  if I could fix it myself and closed my support ticket as resolved. Nothing was resolved! I will never buy from them again. I called my bank for a charge back and I ordered a new carb for $29 from another site.

They are nothing short of thieves!

Funny how you "experts" know everything and you don't even read what I wrote

I repeat:

a) could not have been shipping damage as the box was not damaged and it was very well packed, no additional item was bought with the plane, so there was NOTHING in the box that could have done the rounded ding in the wing!

b) it was NOT opened @ customs, the package came as it was sent, so the only way it was damaged is PRIOR to shipping from HK, so Hobby King has the responsibility to ship undamaged goods, or replace damaged items under the warranty.

That's simple. What part of that do you not understand ?

As many have stated the stuff isn't exactly well treated by the shipping companies, and isn't particularly well packed by HK - especially since they apparently have a reputation for putting other things in boxes along with the airplane in order to save on shipping costs - they pay for both weight and volume. From their perspective they probably see it where their prices are so much lower than pretty much everyone else that even if they blow off a legitimate complaint and lose a a few customers, they don't really care. They know that there are enough people who will put up with their style of customer support (or lack thereof) in order to pay less, sometimes a lot less, for what they're selling.

In the grand scheme of things, I agree. When you pay for something you should have a reasonable expectation that, due to a lack of disclaimers by the seller to the contrary, it will arrive in an undamaged condition. The rest of the thread looks like people either a.) are making excuses for the shipping companies or for HK, or b.) reminding you "caveat emptor" - let the buyer beware. In my case I'm on the b.) side.

Status: offline 		I have had a lot of dealings with Hobbyk and all good. they used to be ligjhtening fast at shipping but that has slowed a little some due to their increased business but most due to the transport groups who are finding web based traffic a real burdon.

Re the ding yes you should get a new plane or wing. But you need to let them know there is an issue and ask if you can return it for a replacement.

Dozens of people would try on the credit or partial refund trick which shows how generous HK are. But untill you send it back they cant asses how upset you are .
If you want a pristine model thats completely fine.

I will put a short peace of carbon rod in the wingtips (they're little crumpled & soft), filler/ sand & repaint. I will paint them light blue (it's scale ), since no paint will match the original color. It will cost more than the $10 credit I got from HK, but I'm willing/ ready to go on with my modelling

And for those who ding their planes assembling it or transporting it to the field, well good for you!

Status: offline 		i personally wouldn't buy anything from HK. maybe li-po battries but thats it. also the shipping is to much even though the cost is less. get a gas motor from them and the ign burns out,try to get a replacement. it could take six months. it happend to a friend. there are many other stories about HK too but people will still from them no matter what. another friend ordered three zippy packs from them. one was no good. he said at least the other two work and threw it away. he really only payed for two because of the price so he was happy. i wouldn't have been,buts that's just me. good luck and happy landings...........RON

I'm just following and trying to help out with this, no disrespect intended here and that goes for most everybody here I think. If you can't acept the dents then you need to stay on them for a new wing untill you have a new wing or they wear you out in which case you can give in or never do business with them anymore. It is a nice looking plane I have to say that much. I don't really know how the dents got their HK probably doesn't either, could be why they don't want to replace it.stay on them, it's not going to hurt them to send you a new wing. Good luck with it I hope you get one.

Status: offline 		I guess you realize every third post shows foamies wrecked first flight while blaming HK or photos of repaired motor mounting damaged "in shipping" and motor shafts being soft? HK would be out of business in two minutes. Nobody takes back opened electronics or broken toys. How can they know you aren't one of the 5 zillion lying "not my fault" flyers? We all pay because of cheats and thieves. It is just your turn. It is frustrating when it happens. I am surprised any anufacturer would pay for shipping damage. Buy a foamie from the LHS and go back in a couple of days with damage. Let us know what they say.

I haven't had bad luck with HK, yet. I know it's only just a matter of time. The only thing that got me was the shipping, was meant to take x many days to arrive, Yes, 5days to reach the UK from germany then the the x many days ontop of that.I could of swimmed to germany to pick it up before it arrived at my door.luckily they used the tracking shipment so i knew it was out there somewhere.

Status: offline 		I've ordered a fair amount from HK with pretty good results, my last two orders had some major issues though. One was a 50cc rcg engine that had a spark plug hole that wasn't tapped properly, another was an order with some servos, three of which were digital minis which all proceeded to burn themselves up when powered up. So the lesson I learned is no more engine purchases or no name servos.

Status: offline 		OP needs to get a life... that tiny bit of damage is nothing... asking for a wing replacement is totally taking the retailer to task for something beyond their control... IT IS FIT FOR THE PURPOSE INTENDED.... you have no complaint and, if it were me, I would offer you nothing. If the box is damaged in transit, take it up with the carrier.

Let's take a look at your other aircraft. All of them pristine? I did not think so and even if they were they don't need to be to fly. You gets what you gets when you buy from the bargain bin.

You can tell that ausie pc of work knows that he can get away with it. The damage that you sustained looks as if the plane shifted side to side in the box. Still is a packing midcue caused by HK. I had in all fairness a similar problem with a foam wing that I bought from hobby lobby once. The box was double and in perfect condition but the plane looked as if the plane had been stepped on before it was put in the box. Their response after an emailed picture, was to send a new one out that I had with in one week. By the way it was a crash sell item and only cost $29, and they paid shipping. Get some good crash sales again and Ill be right there again. HK sucks
