As i was mounting the servos in the quite tight space of my current build I had the idea to use my GP Hole Locator for marking engine mount holes to mark the holes through the servo grommets. Maybe others are already doing this. This proved invaluable as its easily used with one hand allowing the other hold the servo and rail in place. Will be using this for any applicattion whether I have space or its cramped.

My GP hole locater is one of the most used tools on my bench. I use it any time I need a small hole centered, cowls, engine mounts, landing gear, servos. Come to think of it, I need to order a new one in case I wear this one out.

I have to agree. This is one of the simplest and best designed tools I have in my toolbox. Centers the holes perfectly on motor mounts. No longer have to oblong the engine mounting holes in my RC engines.

This is one of my favorite tools for locating holes for mounting just about anything.

When I am drilling holes for a set of servos, I will usually draw the servo layout using AutoCAD and then print the drawing.  I can then use masking tape to locate the servo drawings on the support rails.  It gives a perfect layout every time.  The only complaint that I have is that it is sometimes difficult to get the exact measurements of the mounting holes from some of the servo manufacturers.

I chuck the knurled knob in my hand drill, makes it even easier to make a good deep pilot hole in aluminum engine mounts and when you drill the real size hole the bit does not wander at all.
