Walkera Lady Bird? or Bug? New UFO Canopies***
Intro:I purchased this little model not expecting very much, given its size and although cute with the stock lady bug like canopy, it really looked like a child's toy.
Pro: To my surprise, this little quad is very stable and has a high degree of performance. The electronincs and motors are the best parts, also it has Telemetry built into work with the respective Walkera Devention Transmitters, which I really like.
Con:Unfortunately, by original design, the model lands on the motor plastic holders and in the event of a hard landing
there goes the notors, and carbon booms. I managed to crack the plastic motor holder on a few flights landing a bit hard over hard surfaces.
MIA Approach: Considering all the above, the model was begging a redesign of the complete aircraft, minus electronics and motors
to make it more crashworthy and more like what I think a model of this caliber should be, more in line with MIA's approach to Palm-Size rotoray wing aircraft design, using MIA's Phantom and TUFF (TM) parts.
So this is the start, one of several MIA UFO designs I am doing for the Walkera Lady Bird, similar to what I did for the Blade mQX.
A MIA Phantomâ„¢ UFO body and to really make it really cool!, a couple side bumpers which doubles as additional vertical stabilization, and a wing that holds tiny LED lights for night flying.
In addition this kit has MIA's trademark suspension LG dampers to cushion hard landing and prevent damage to the underside of the motor holders and carbon booms.
There is more, a full page will be up @ www.micro-flight.com to showcase other MIA cool products for this particular little bird!
