I'm rebuilding my erevo and for some reason I can't get the axle far enough out I the carrier to get the pin for 17mm wheel adapter through the hole in the axle. The rear went on with a little trouble too but that's always the case with Traxxas, the bearings always seem to get hung up on the Axle and I have to use a 12mm wheel and adapter to cinche it tight. But this front one just will not come far enough out from the carrier. I tried it with both stock Traxxas and rpm carrier.

Im using the steel Traxxas shafts. Would they happen to be different length front and rear? Is there an easier way to get the shaft out from the bearing in the carrier?

I get that prob too. Just slide that red ring that's on the CVD up and then try it. That fixes the prob for me normally

I've never had this problem, I've always been able to push the shaft into the carrier with ease. Maybe a pic of how far in you can get the shaft before it stops might shed some light on the situation, there has got to be something going on for this to be happening.

Nah it has something to do with that red ring that's on the cvd's. Once you slide it back it goes right in

Oh yeah I know what you mean Pyro, It might be easier to pull that red ring back and put the bearing on the shaft first and then try pushing the whole lot through the carrier, just a thought.

K I'll give that a try. I really think these cvd's were milled ever so slightly bigger than spec. When I pop it through the axle carrier it always pushes the outside bearing out of the housing, each one does it and I can't just push the bearing back into place. One by one I have to use a 12 mm tire, tighten it up to push the bearing back onto place.  This happens with Rpm bearings, stock, and aftermarket ones I've tried. I don't recall this problem with any tmaxx I've had. Makes a very simple task quite the headache lol

Very strange indeed seeing as you're having problems getting the shaft through both of the bearings. Maybe you did get a set that were a little bit larger in diameter, it would be unlikely but anything is possible. I got a set of GH aluminum axle carriers for my mini a while ago that were a bit off and I could not for the life of me get the bearings to fit in two out of the four of them, I got a refund and they didn't even offer an exchange so I figured they already knew of problem with them. If you don't get it sorted soon it might be worth while hitting up Traxxas and see what they have to say.

Try lubricating the axle stub with something like corrosion x or a white lithium grease.  That might help the assembly process.  Sometimes tight tolerances need a little help.

Pyromatic you were bang on, thanks for the tip. I took the dust boot off and realized the wrist pin in the axle was not flush and inibiting thhe red cylinder from moving up the shaft. I had to use a center punch but got er done and now it's ready to go. Except the motor lol

Anyone selling a 1/8th brushless system?
