I just picked up a old Zigg's orig Corsair. It's blue foam and balsa. I want to finish it off and will be using electric for power. Trying to decide weather to cover it with low temp monocote or paint it.

I know I will need to close the grain on the balsa but I'm wondering about the foam. Any have a technique to fill the tiny holes in the foam so paint will look good?

I have used Acrylic paint on EPP foam (closed cells) and then cover the paint with floor polish and this will gloss it up and harden the paint.

Any ideas??

Larry

Thanks for the link, but it is 2 yrs old and I have looked for a source of the Styro Spray and have come up with a dead end. One link takes me to a website that doesnt have a order form or prices. The other is busted.

It looks like the styro Spray is the ticket but dont know if I really need 2, 1 gal containers of it.

I have found a product called finish cure epoxy. This stuff is great, thin and spreads easily over glass cloth. Dont know if I want to use this on a foam plane due to the cost for the stuff.

Anyone got any other products they recommend?

Here's the source for Liquid Sheeting, which may be the same product, and sold in an 8 oz (after mixing) quantity.
