Thanks Thomas,

I have always wanted one to be honest...I do like the size as well with the 90mm fans. I would like to do a 90mm AR234.

I may be begging you for a kit after I see yours fly lol...

Casey

Yea I'd like to see a Ar234 as well, I'm tempted to do a Uhu to...

Jeff,
Thanks!
Yeah, Boilers almost won....and my Father n law is a ND fan too.

Ram, that's pretty damn cool...
Ahh...to think I'm inspirational.... LOL. My wife would laugh until pee ran down her leg if I told her...so I wont

Thomas, every time I think of the 234, I stop and think....where could I possibly even put 4 large battery packs....and it fades again lol

I'm thinking of ordering a pair of these to give a try, I've heard nothing but good things about these battery's

2 six cell 6000MaH 65c battery's

http://www.bananahobby.com/gp6560006s-65686-prd1.html

I'm also still toying with the idea of using a sound system. The plan is to finish the wing, cut that battery box to extend though the firewall allowing the battery's to both sit above the motor. Now depending on where this puts the CG, I may need the sound system to balance out the nose. I could mount both speakers just behind the firewall on the fuse at the exhaust exits. This would put the speaker opening under the cowl at the exhaust....hidden from site, and all in front of the CG. I would just have room to build a small speaker box off the back of the firewall...

Time will tell.

After sanding out the wing tonight, it looks like I'll be able to put some colors on the wing tomorrow! It sanded out nicely. I've also got to make the order with Vicky at Getstencils.com for my stencils.

That sounds like RC heaven Bruce!

I have the wing painted using Model Masters paints. RLM 76 on lower surfaces, RLM 74, and RLM 75 for top of wing.
I also have my stencils on the way from Vickie at Getstencils.com, shes so easy to work with! I'm going to use the JG 26 badge on the cowl, and it will be the fictional "yellow 8" soon. I need to paint the ailerons, as I was in too big of a hurry to finish the wing and forgot about them only after cleaning up my guns lol
I still need to do alittle work to the flap bays and the flaps themselves. I'll be using Futaba HD Metal gear 3305's on these surfaces.
I'm out of BVM v-poxy, so I made an order today. Once that arrives I will make the cutout for the battery box, and install.
I also called Sierra today, and ordered a up-8 valve and large air tank. Once all this stuff gets in, I can start bringing it all together. Until then I'll work on the flaps and ailerons.

I'm seriously thinking I'll get another Benedini sound system for this bird...

also, does anyone have any input on the Futaba 18mz? I'm considering one.

jeesh....I should have dusted off the horizontal and fuse before taking a pic lol....

Thanks guys...

Thomas,

I'm pretty excited to see what it will do too! I've contacted Kim at Aerosound RC to see if they have the correct sound files for the 190, I think that they do, but its not listed on the sight....we'll see.
http://www.aerosoundrc.com/
Need to go hit the LHS for some 5/32 square stock brass to extend my aileron hinges.(stole this idea from Thomas). I'm still waiting on v-poxy as well so I'll work on the flaps and flap wells today, and try to remember to paint the ailerons too.

Just heard back from Aerosound, and they do have the correct and authentic sound files for the FW190....so I'll probably have to have the sound system for this bird too. I just need to see if my ideas for the mounting of the system and the building of a sound box will work. First, I need to cut out the fire wall and get the battery box installed as this will allow me to really see how much room I'm working with.

Looking mighty fine there Casey...love the idea of the on board sound. Other than the sweet music of a Moki 250, it's the non-scale sound of our motors that disturbs that aura of full scale with our models.

Ok alittle progress.

Recieved all my stencils from Vickie at Getstencils.com. Once again a pleasure to work with. Put this on the list to do...

I removed the motor and mount so I could cut the firewall for the battery tray to extend though.

I then remounted the motor and mount and installed the battery box. I used BVM V-poxy to glue everything at the firewall.

I also recieved the last of the needed parts to finish the retracts. Valve and tank from Sierra.

Here is a shot of the inside of the firewall, I will keep the batterys in place with velcro straps.

Work on the flaps progresses, I just need to finish putting the pieces together.

I need some more Vpoxy to install ailerons, flaps, elevators and rudder. I mistakenly ordered one tube instead of two....doh!

Getting closer!

Fuse crosses and yellow number 8 added. Still need to do the tail, and the wing markings yet.
Cannons added.
Working drop rack installed on hardwood blocks glued into bottom of center section. These will be covered by the center belly pan.(waiting on some more glue...)

I still need to plumb in the retracts and install belly pan. I had to place the blocks for the drop rack before gluing it on. A few more little things here and there yet to do.

I'm getting the dummy fan off of a TopFlite FW to install soon, that will help hide the battery box.

I'm thinking of a varioprop for this bird. 20" 3 blade with very scale looking blades.

Here's a peek

Well I went ahead and ordered one to check out. I could also use this same setup on my Fliteskin 109F if it works out well. It's just under 20" with the fat paddle blades . Whole thing was much cheaper than I expected. 120 euros for the hub and 4 blades.

I'm corresponding with him at the moment, with the same question. I'll let you know what he says. The site shows the largest prop being just under 20", but I really could go larger.

Casey,
Great work, question on Model Master paint use. I am guessing you are using the enamel MM? If you did about how much did you use in the process? I have a fair amount of experience with MM on plastic and I like how it shoots. I have a KMP 190 D9 I am working on and hopefully come January it is ready to paint. I was planning to use ext. latex but I do like MM and if I could go that way I might do it.

Thanks, Marc
