Status: offline 		Is it necessary to polish a prop? I here it doesn't matter,and it does. Polish the side facing the front of the boat with a satin finish on the other side. Then I herd to satin the whole prop. Does any of this matter? Thanks

If you feel it will give you a edge, then Yes polish

Status: offline 		A polished prop is a fast prop. I balance/polish/sharpen my own props. I have a couple done by the pro's. Don't see a difference. I do not do cupping/cutting. That I let the pro's do.

I have a gasser 55" cat and a small 16" electric hydro. Just added a .12 Zippkits rigger to the fleet. Hope to have the nitro in the water in a couple of weeks.

Status: offline 		A Polished Prop will Slip through the water easier where a Sanded prop when done Right will Grab the water a push it the direction you want.
If your running a large aggressive prop and need it to Slip a little to let the engine get up in the RPM's You Polish It. BUT a Polished Prop will also Break Loose Easier in the turns or under Heavy Acceleration loads.
If you run a Smaller Prop that the engine has No Problem Turning Up you Sand the Blade surface to make it Grab the water and GO. A sanded prop will Launch Easier, Pull Turns Stronger, Hole Shot out of the turns Quicker, and Recover from a Spin Out\Stall Easier.
You just have to Experiment a little and figure out what works best for You and Your Driving Style and Boat set up.

Status: offline 		Joe over at Zippkits.com has a good selection of props. And a good price. I been running his Billet .21 prop on my .21 JAE rigger. MY .12 JAE i run his 438 -440 props

Status: offline 		For Top Speed: I have a 1/12 hydro. I am using a 1.34 x 2.06 s/s prop. It is sharpened and balanced. Is this a good prop for this boat or do you recommend something else? Thanks

Status: offline 		If your running basically Stock engine & Set Up, The Octura Y535 (2 blade prop) for Top Speed, the Octura M435\3 (3 Blade) for Pulling Quick Turns and Hole Shots(Heat Racing). Stainless Steel is a bit Heavy for these small engines and the 1\8" Prop shaft, the Beryllium\Copper(Octura) is lighter and easier to work with when you S&B the prop.

When I got a billet prop or a AB it's always a little rough from machining. Same with Props4U -I did get his modded prop for the .12 and I was very happy. but delicate I tore that prop up a few years ago. You can't do what they do with a Dremal.
