Status: offline 		I saw the skymaster T-38 fly in mississippi and it looks and flys great it is going to be my next jet. I say im going to get it for my X-mas present buttttt my birthday is in august. . I really need to finish the two jets i have and one small one on the way

Falcon 5 any plans on making a kit to sell? Yours looks good also

Status: offline 		How are you supporting the orbit and rx? Looks clean.
Also, how close is your pump to the rx? I'm working on an install now (not a t38) and the ecu is a long way from the rx but the pump is close to the rx. I'm thinking this needs to be reworked?

Status: offline 		My fuel pump is approx 150mm away from Rx. It's always good practice to keep the two fairly well separated even tho the electronics today offer much better suppression than years ago. Unfortunately electricity/magnetism don't always follow the rules, so why risk it.
Rx is supported by a sub-tray which is screwed to blocks underneath the main tray.

Status: offline 		Engine Bypass and Engine:
The supplied by-pass duct in my kit is huge, it could easily house a 180 class engine. To get it to fit in, it needed to be modified which is engineering speak for butchered. A slot needed to be cut at the 6 o'clock position to clear the forward engine former. With the duct sitting in position I applied heat to the upper area of the slot just cut and remolded the sides of the duct to clear the former. PITA really, but as the nain wheel wells are positioned at the intake area, the by-pass duct is necessary.The tail pipe bellmouth is silicon mounted in the rear of the by-pass duct then the very rear of the by-pass is cut down to expose the bellmouth spigot. The tail pipe align's to this and is retained by the straps secured to the bypass duct.
The engine I chose to use is a Kingtech 140F which fits perfectly and aligns nicely centered to the tail pipe. The ECU, Valves and Ball Valve are mounted to a plate on top of the main tank. It could have gone further forward under the canopy but at this stage I was starting to get a little concerned of nose weight, anyway it looks ok where it is and is practical.

Status: offline 		Just about complete, with engine runs done, radio programmed and minor tidy up work complete. I did also add a better canopy locking method to guard against the single hatch latch failing in flight.
At the moment no extra ballast is needed and the test flight will happen as is.
On the ground there is no better words for it than "Sex with Wings" Thats what I think!!

Kevin, is the RTI turbine 28lbs thrust? I have my second the F-5e done by a different company. In the first, I installed a Rhino thinking that's what was needed to get blistering speed and vertical performance. But if a 28lbs unit will do the job, I may need to change my plan for this new plane.

Status: offline 		Yes it is a 28 pound class engine. Plenty of power. The new Kingtech as spoken earlier I think is perfect. That will give 200 top end and still nice landing speed
