I would like to introduce the New Modellbau USA F-16.  With Cermark stopping its production of there F16 and many other manufacturers not filling in this gap we decided to make a 1/8 Scale F-16 for 12-23 lb thrust Turbines.  The New MBA F-16 has a composite fuselage that is heavly carbon fiber reinforced, Built up wings and stabilizers that have ply cross bracing and carbon fiber reinforcing, the wings use carbon fiber spars that add great strength and rigidity needed for the new Rabbit 100 and P100.

The kit will come with composite fuel tanks, hardware and cockpit tub and pilot.  SS exhaust pipe and Custom Semiscale retracts, trailing link struts wheels and brakes will be made by our sister company Spring Air.  We estimate the cost of the kit to be $599 but we are working to bring the cost of the kit down at this time.

We will have two color Schemes Available , Thunder Birds Scheme and the Artic Agressor Scheme.  I will have flight video up soon, we just test flew our factory demo today here in South Florida.  All the painting, monokoting, fuel tanks, Exhaust pipes and Canopies will be produced in our new facility here in South Florida.  We expect to have stock twards the end of the summer and some demo aircraft out to our dealers mid summer.  We are also opening a centralized shipping location in Paraguay to distribute aircraft to all the countries in South America.

would be great if you can do an option for EDF and just leave out the turbine stuff

I had one of the cermark version years ago as an EDF... it had no ducting but went well with a 120mm fan on which had a bellmouth lip on the fan

but with todays high powered 90mm and 100mm fans like the Stu Max 100mm and the TJ 100mm full ducting could be done and this plane could fly very well

They are so light they would really do great on EDF power. If you could get one to Tam he could make the ducting and conversion package. I have no doubt he would make it fly really sweet on EDF.

Hope you will consider that option

Actually that is exactly why we are not inuding the turbine stuff except fuel tanks and even those we are debating what to do. That is one of the price reductions options we will do. We have been talking with tam and this is definitely a possibility. We have two right now one has a Jet Central Rabbit 100 and the other we are using to test different engines in to see performance changes. The airplane is around 16.5 lb with full UAT

Hey Henry,
Glad to see you guys are still coming out with airplanes. I wouldn't say there is a gap for a 1/8 scale F16 though, Fly Eagle, Skymaster, Jet Legend, Yellow Aircraft, etc, there are lots of options. However, your price point is awesome, nobody else comes close except Y/A and that one is a kit.
Awesome job!!!

I will point out though, and this might just be angles in the photo's, but there is something about the fin, nose and canopy that look really off to me. Especially the nose. It almost looks like it's pointed up or something.

No both nose are fixed, the painted one was the first prototype and the all white one is the production model with two piece nose for small box sizes for shipping cost of our international customers

Yeah, that looks much better, top of the fin still looks strange to me, but it might just be me! Nice Job on this one too, hope it's a huge success for you!

we are keeping this plane as simple as possible no gear doors. The fuel capacity is approx 80 oz in two tanks.

Hi Henry,
It would be nice to have another local jet manufacturing company. You would only be 40 miles away! With all the jets in FL and CA, I don't know why each state doesn't have a few companies in business.

Your pricing is awesome.

I have an F-18 prop-jet from Cermark that I made nose and main gear doors for several years ago. Once I did that, the plane flew about 15~20 mph faster. So, goes to show that despite you not doing gear doors on your F-16, they can be made by the buyer.

Henry, how do you think this would handle grass fields?

Will this one actually happen. The huricane that was hyped and many people got excited about seemed to disappear. I hope this one does not go the same way

No gear doors is cool, I'm all about simple I'd rather fly than tinker. How are the landing speeds compared to the tornado?
I'm sure it will be faster due to less wing area and higher wing loading but I would like to be able to fly it out of our 350' paved runway
My tornado does it effortlessly Im hoping it will be at least possible with this one. What's the length and wingspan?

We are working on the plane and experimenting with several CG's and 3 wings designs at this time so as to make this plane easy to land and also slow down to a crawl like the Tornado for landing. This plane will fly great off grass that's why we are making a semi scale trailing link strut to handle grass fields. It is very hard to describe how they will look but I will post pictures soon of the struts.

As for the comment of the Hurricane the reason we have not released yet was because the plane is not very easy to land. The first batch like I said were sold as target drones so they never came back after the first flight. We can fly it and land it fine but we gave a few planes to our friends to get feed back and all said that it lands to fast and not easy like the Tornado so we decided not to release it and do redesign work on the wing and flap. To be honest as much as I would like to sell the hurricane to everybody it is very important to me to have a plane that flies well and lands easy. I don't want to take my customers money and release a plane and not care about my customers. I will not release anything including the F16 until its 100%.

NICE!

Really like it, Actually was planning on buying the F86D at the end of summer but since i'm an F16 Mech this might change the whole plan!

Would you please do me a favor? NO THUNDERBIRDS SCHEME PLEASEEEEEE! Those scheme's pop up everywhere!
Keep it original! ;-)
the artic agressor scheme is a PERFECT idea!
And i see you have the base coating for the prototype schem??

Some questions:

- I dont see a trailing link gear? this one installed is just for flight tests? EDIT ISREGARD, Our posts crossed, you just answered this question.
- As im just starting to fly my first jet trainer, what is the better choice for a follow up? Your F16 or F86? Looks like the F16's wing is thinner then the F86d

Just a slight suggestion: Maybe add some wingtip launchers with missile's? Allthough its not a scale jet, it finishes it just a tad more!

Actually: The real F16 is not allowed to fly without Launchers, they act as a small winglet (as on a 747-400 for example)
This recovers the wingtip vortex and thus less drag. (high press under the wing, low press on top of the wing, air curls over the wingtip and creates a vortex)

I decided to sell my Cermark F16 with I believe "Spring Air" retracts a few weeks ago ( prop version ) that I never got around to building but now considering "Converting" it to an EDF if possible and eventually getting on of these.....
Decisions. decisions.....

Henry

Another winner I am sure, just a suggestion, we fly from some pretty rough runways in the UK and the underbelly air brake would be very vulnerably to damage, if the flaps and ailerons had sufficient movement to be used as crow braking that would add its appeal to the UK market, well certainly to me anyway.

One other thing, when doing your test flights can you try tailerons only to see if it can be kept very simple and light? with say a top of the fus airbrake?????

Regards
Mike
