 where the heck is the best place to buy parts. i see on Ebay some pretty awesome rebuilds. but i already have a mcpx v2 and i am missing a tail boom. seems tail booms are what i go through most and i really want to get some decent parts for this thing.

yeah...WoW hobbies has a very large selection and is where I bought my last mcpx parts.  Just be warned that if you ship to a different address than the billing address, you will have to fill out a form to release them to do that (was told this is a "one time" thing).

I found out the hard way about the form as I waited a week and still no shipment or tracking info.  I called them and they said/told me about the form that I never recieved.  I guess they would have waited forever or until I called.  Got it filled out/faxed back the same day of the call and had my order another week later.

Im not "dissing" WoW...as I plan on buying from them again.  Its just I thought it was pretty crappy that I had to call to see what was up with the shipping.  They already had my email address AND phone number when I created my account.  Seems like someone would have notified me, ya know?  I did let them know that I thought that part of their ordering system was flawed/broken and they should address it.  Maybe they will, maybe not.

I give them a solid 8 of 10 with my experience.  Would be 10 of 10 if not for the different address form for ship to address deal.

i recieved my parts from wow hobies today. i bought some longer tailbooms some micro heli carbon fiber main blades and a mia micro-flight canopy combo kit. i love this combo kit it is awesome. i wasnt too excited when i realized it had to be 100% assembled but it wasnt that bad. i dont know what it is but the combonation of getting the battery farther forward, a longer tail boom as well as new main blades has made this thing almost stupid easy to fly. i have been flying it a few months now and i can do some 3d and what not but it has always been alot of work to fly. i can almost get it to hover and walk away now. i say almost because i actually have to keep moving the throttle. dont know why but seems it either goes up or down up or down. i love this thing... if anyone wants a picture of the upgrades i will post one. one more thing is i bound the dx6i with the little bird and seems i like to use that controller with it better as well. what a good day.

I thought about ordering that canopy...but I find the mCPX hard enough to see in FFF now with red/white/blue.  I cant imagine how hard it would be for me to see if it was all black.  Looks nice though.

FFF = Fast Forward Flight.

The mCPX is quite fast...I dont know if it could be radar'd...but if I were to guess at WOT FFF would be at least 25 or higher downwind.

Even with my red/white/blue canopy...it blends in with anything other than bright blue sky.  And with it being so tiny...I rarely ever fly mine above the backdrop of the mountain across from our field...so it rarely is in a position that I can have a sky backdrop to fly in.  You can tell from my avatar that my backdrop for flying it is always leafy green and in the evening its just dark mass.

Like I said...the caron fiber look canopy looks great.  Just probably would cause me to crash more often than I do now.  Im thinking that the Extreme orange/white canopy would be an improvement...along with KBDD blades (orange or white with the holographic stickers on them as I tend to mostly use the rotor disc as a point of reference along with tail orientation).

Its hard not to get caught up in the modding game for the little thing.  You could easily have over 500 bucks invested in that heli.  So, Im keeping mine stock as long as I can and just replace parts that break/fail with factory replacements.  Because really all I wanted it for was a trainer heli that would get me out of the hovering around stage and into FFF stage and scale type flying practice...also some aerobatic type flying.  It has served me well for that purpose...so the looks of it are 2nd and practicality is 1st.

i think one of the main motor fets is toast on mine (reason the main motor isnt spinning the way it should)  its still good for  hovers and fwd flight so.

You can buy them from Newark.  Cheap...like 60 cents each.  I bought 10 of them just so I would have them.

You need to have skills to solder them though.  SMT stuff is harder for me now that Ive hit my 40's.  LOL  Eyes arent what they used to be, thats for sure!
