I just acquired an older Hanger 9 Alpha 40 Trainer (NIB) and need to know the recommended components to convert from gas to electric power. Probably will use Hobby King components. What is the best way to mount the outrunner on the existing mount or remove and use firewall mount?

Next question is how to mount GoPro camera for aerial videos?

I was planning on using quad or hex copter but too much of a learning curve.

Thanks for your comments and suggestions.

What is the total weight of the trainer?

Motor .32 Using a 5s battery, 12X6 APC prop puts out about 130 ounces of thrust.

I mounted my motor to the fire wall with stand offs. They are hard plastic tubes with 10-32 threaded rods, blind nuts, washers and nylok's. You could buy one of the aluminum monts for it.

Thanks for the information. The aircraft with electric conversion and the GoPro camera should weigh approximately 6 pounds.

Well 130 ounces is over 8 pounds so you will have more then enough to fly it. You will be cruising around at 70% throttle or less.
