I'm considering a Carf BAE Hawk for my next jet.  I plan to power it with an earlier version P120.  I'm curious to hear comments from anyone flying this bird.  Thx in advance for your input...

Bill

from what I've heard a 120 works well with it. no better bang for the buck too if you don't have a CARF rep try Andy Kane he has been great with Paul and myself...

Kev-O,

Behzad hooked me up with Andy Kane and we spoke today.  Just need to decide if this will be the next.  I'll give it some thought while we're flying at the OLF this Friday.  Weather permiting and Navy allowing, of course !!!

Best RC 'aircraft' I have owned period, simply flies superbly trying to persuade my friend Dustflyer in the US to make it his next Jet

I have the P120SX in the Hawk and my tank is 4.8 litres, the speed which this combination gives is more than enough. On the ground on run up to max you can see the sides slightly starting to get sucked in! I have fitted the top air scoops since this video was taken so now more air can enter etc.

Cannot see why someone would put a 160 in simply not needed.

Beautiful jet, very nice flying! The lights look great and that landing is a tough act to follow!

I will definitely put that jet on my "A" list for when my vintage Hotspot hits its inevitable expiration date!

Springs on my Hawk have made hundreds of grass landings...not changed them yet....
Earliest Sport legs didn't have stops and could over extend springs, but we changed that 2 years ago!

Dave,

so i must have a early version ...... it`s worst

When the plane is sitting on the legs i have only 1,5cm
from the bottom to the door-parts on the legs.

Last time on a smooth landing one of this CFK parts come
loose and goes into the wing ....

Oh god .... explain that in my english is much easier when i`m drunken

I had a 170 in my Hawk and it was completely unnecessary, but fun when wide open in a vertical... Definitely not scale, but tons of fun! I flew at 1/3 power most of the time, so a 120/140 will be perfect.

My springs are softer than I would like. They work but, would be much better if stiffer, I can knock my strut doors off just by braking too hard because the gear will compress so much. No stops on mine either and was ordered only a year ago.!  Other than that, this is an awesome plane, by far the best Hawk in this size.

Mike

Dave,
I just received my Hawk and gear three weeks ago. I don't think my gear has stops. Can you post a picture of the stop or is it visible in the Hawk manual? My Hawk has an old build date I guess because the T-45 scheme is not in much demand. The gear however came from another warehouse but I'm wondering if that was in stock for a while as well.

How about cockpits.  The one provided from Carf looks a bit to be desired...
