Found a new better way to prevent tirez from ballooning and ultimately keeping them from ripping off the rims. I start by turning the tires inside out and then cleaning with denatured alcohol with a scotch brite pads with the rough abrasive side. Once dry I apply a single layer of extra thin drywall tape overlapping by exactly one inch. I then use a high quality rubber cement to brush on a layer just enough to completely cver the tape. Once it is dry to the touch but still sticky I apply another layer of drywall tape with exactly one inch of overlap exactly 180 degrees from the overlap of the first layer of tape (to maintain perfect balance of tire). Then brush on anotherthin coat of rubber cement just enough to cover and a little off the edges of tape. This method it ten times lighter than any duck or gorilla tape methods. It is much more balanced and much more durable while still allowing the tire to flex over rocks and terain almost like before done. My revo 3.3 converted to brushless with hobbywing sc8 system on 4 cell can be geared for 65 mph and hold it off ground and full rev with absolutely no ballooning or stretch. Have almost ten hours of running with this done to set of badlands and still holding perfect. Before I would rip a tire or two off every run. Have not haf even a small section off tire come unglued since done. Try it and you will be just as impressed as I am!!! Will post picks tomorow of how it looks glued to inside of tire. And about to redo a set so will do a step by step with picks and post as I go. Thanks everyone for all the great info along the years, never posted but when I came up with this idea I had to share the info to try to give back to my community.

Not ripped one yet, what tires are we talking about? Revo stockers? No experience with 'em but I find it pretty hard to get the tire off the rim of the Savage, with its stockers or with the truggy tires. This car will do standing double backflips if it grips just right...6S of course...

To the OP, please don't misunderstand, I'm not saying your idea is without merit, on the contrary, it's a great post for people who are having this problem. But I haven't found it necessary on the Savage yet. No doubt it wuld be really important with Big Joes and other 'stretchy' tires.

But I do like the pizza cutter look.

Or just run some big industrial strength O-Rings on the outside.  No ballooning, no additional weight from tape, cement, etc.

Was a big problem with the traxxas sport track tires and some other thin stretchy tires. I also do speed runs on asphalt so when getting above 60 mph and running on the thin little strip of pizza cutter it was near impossible to control. Also seemed much more balanced than the tape method. No wobbling at speed. Don't doubt those pre glued tires won't tear off but unfortunately no matter how hard I try I've had trouble with tires i glue separating in little areas then when hit just right tear the tire. My badlands seem a lot tougher though. Just thought people might want a lighter more balanced and more durable method. Thanks for the replies!

O yeah it does help to know this new method. I might just use it for the new tires on my 1/8th buggy

If I had a dollar for every Savage tyre I have seen rip or just blow up on 6S on youtube I would have at least 20 bucks. Not saying they are no good or anything I'm just saying I've seen it a lot.

Ipanema Monster truck belted slicks do not balloon out.
They retail for about $150 a set of four.
Size is 139mm tall and 87mm wide!

Try them, you'll like them too.
