I have a pro boat impulse 26 that I took out the old motor and esc and put in a castle 4.5t 4600kv 2 pole brushless motor into it( It has the water cooling shroud around it and runs super cool) but the esc(castle sidewinder, no water cooling) thermals like 3 minutes into running. I have a 1.6 x 2.5 pro boat prop on it that was used on the stock brushed motor. What prop should I get for my esc to run and not thermal? but if it gets up to like 140-150 degress thats fine as long as it dosent go over 160 degrees. Do I have to maybe get a better esc?, but i prefer to keep using my sidewinder. Please help me out guys

you might be able to attach a water cooling plate on the fins of the esc to get temps down or even remove the plate and install the cooling plate in its place but wow thats hot. have you adjusted your prop up some ? or even look at detounging / bending tips a bit to take some load off it.
