 Don't recommend you put a saito fg36 on a hangar 9 p51 blue nose.

Dont recommend you put a os bgx 3500 on a seagull yak 90

Sounds like they both came to a sorry end, my sympathies, however if you had not tried it you would not have gained the knowledge of knowing that doing so is a definite no no. That's one for experience my friend.

Recommend you follow the manufacturers suggested engine sizes Saves time and expense!

No better words spoken. Get a charge when people put way too much motor on planes and when they come apart, want to bash the company. At least Orthobird didn't do that.

I guess this is sort of in topic?

Any Evolution 2-stroke engine in a plane. I had 3 of them! (I'm not talking about the gas engines or the radials) Eveytime I put one of those cheap engines in a plane, about a year or 2 later I have to start replacing gaskets, pistons, bearings and etc. Not to mention the needle valve likes to move and not keep its setting. I finally took the pistons out of all the engines, made keychains out of them and tossed the rest of the engine out.

I know- buy cheap get cheap, we live, we learn.

Hi!
I think Evolution glow engines are made by Sanye in China and they make good engines. Kyosho and ASP are also made by Sanye and those are some of the most powerful and reliable engines on the market today.
It might be that it says more of the user if someting doesn't hold up or doesn't work.

I can attest to the quality and longevitable of ASP, as I still have a early version ASP 61 from the early 80's that is still the screamer it was back then.

My vote goes with Pete. If I know that sanye makes it I'll let others take the risk while I will go for the sure thing, like OS , Saito or Thunder Tiger and I do know how to tune and run an engine.
Just purchased a NIB Magnum 91 4-Stroke. The HS needle is so loose that I was afraid it would fall out, but after sliding some fuel tubing over the HS needle the engine runs ok, this has never happened on any of the OS,Saito or TT engines that I have owned.

The worst pairing I have assembled is a G.P. extra 300 .40 with an O.S. fp.60, no doubt about it! This plane needs to land under power, which made looking at your watch a must! you only have ten minutes, so you have to start setting up to land at around eight minutes, if you go a little long, it aint good, this thing is coming down, rigt now! Actually ended up hating this plane/ engine combo!
