I'm also running the powerbox baselog in my Viper so this should handle the lights running from a spare channel in the RX as it outputs up to 20A

Hi Jeremy

Its just a cheap Hobbyking 3amp 6v reg I got for about $3-4 a wile back, im sure they still do them, I wouldn't use it to power an Rx but for lights there fine.
When I first fitted it I just plugged it in at the beginning of the flight just after the turbine had started and left them on but now I've fitted a RC switch also from Hobbyking at about $9
Any cheap reg or UBEC would do an ideal unit would be the PB Ignition reg switch as its all in one, I think there about £30 but they are good kit.
If you have biggish battery's all round it doesn't matter which you use as its not affecting the RXs Reg but i only run two smaller packs for the RX so my ECU was a better choice for me.

Regards Mark

Yeah the PB Ignition would work. I use those in my Gassers and they are great, Thanks for the advice, I'm going to order some lights once they are back in stock.

Cheers

Jeremy

Hey guys my wife wont let me open my viper up until xmas. So can someone tell me what all this jet comes with so I can get the supplies on hand? I just bought the basic arf package.

Does it have Airline and Airtanks? What about the valve for the retracts?

I think I have everything else, brake valve, uat, fuel line servos, and extensions.

Oh is any hysol needed at all?

The basic ARF will have a single air tank and airline as well as the splitters and 3mm-2mm adaptors. I'm not sure about the gear valve sorry as I opted for the version with the electronic gear and brake valves. Hysol is always handy if you are adding a try or mounts. I used it on mine for my UAT mount and tray supports.

Are these airup and air down or spring down? If air up/down must get another air tank.

Air up air Down. The single tank works fine. My friend used that on his and it is fine, I added a second tank to separate the air for the brakes and gear

We are running our Viperjet with the electronic gear and brake valve and a single tank. The only thing we had to replace was the fill valve as the one that came with the aircraft package leaked. I have to say that the supplied gear and valves work better than any I have seen in the past from Jet Legend. The final checks that Global Jet does help to make sure that everything is working.

You'll need the 2 - 3mm air coupler set for the wings...

Does the ARF version come with a mechanical retract valve or will I need a robart one?

Hi,

It doesn't come with any valves apart from the fill valve. You can use a Robart one but I can highly recommend Jetlegends own electronic valve set for retracts and brakes. Easy to install and operate - there is even a section on the radio tray which is pre-drilled to accommodate them!

And the brake valve pulses proportionally in the first half of it's travel, works really well.

Hi Jimmers

Just popped the wings on the bench on there wing tube and measured up the dihedral along the trailing edge for you

Its 25mm up from the bench at the root and 40mm up at the tip at 720mm from root to tip, IE 25mm rise in 720mm each side.

My math is not good enough to work out the angel ill leave that up to you.

Regards Mark

Hi leopaul,

Mine was about 2 - 1/2 months for the ARF Pro Wired Version with all the ext leads and air system pre installed to be delivered. I've also had one delivered in 3 weeks in the same configuration as there was stock available in the GJC China factory at the time.

It really Depends on when they take delivery of a batch from JetLegend and if that batch is on time from JL. I know there is a delivery due late this month or early next as I have a couple pre ordered for customers.

Hope this helps

Cheers

Jeremy

WELL, Add Me To The List,

My Viperjet had it's maiden yesterday! All went perfectly. GREAT JET, ton of fun to fly. Mine is the GJC ARF PRO+, It came with a one-off paint scheme, wire harness, air retracts, retract and brake electronics, and airline harness with connectors already done.

I went with a new version Merlin 100X, JR 12X, All JR servos, Smart-Fly EQ6 Turbo power management, Fromeco Relion RX batteries, Duralite EXB Manganise ECU battery, and one of Marc's GBRJET cat UAT's.

The only changes from stock I made, was to swap out the filler valve and guage with true Festo units, and I made custom mounting plates for the batteries, fuel pump, and the CAT UAT.

Finished weight is 22lbs 6oz. C/G was set at 9 3/4" back from the leading edge of the wing, measured at the wing/fuse join line. She flew very well at 9 3/4" with no pitching or tucking. I only flew one flight and will likely move the C/G back to 10" for the next flight.

Mike has gone all the way to 10 1/2" back with his Viperjet and he said it was fine and safe, just a bit sensitive, but mine felt like it was VERY close at 9 3/4" so 10" should be perfect for my flying taste.

Pics added, no vid was shot, sorry
