Sometimes there is a fine line between disaster and survived... that was flying that line close.

If the pilot knew how to use the rudder, this would have been another boring takeoff............

So to that pilot, I say THANK-YOU for having just enough skills to get in trouble, and not enough skills to make me laugh!!!!

That plane needs smooth throttle in order to take off properly.  I think thats a Paulistina, Cub knock off.  Looks to me like he started getting in trouble then gunned it.  Torque roll - prop stops and plane turns.  Did something very simular myself - once -  only I did a complete roll 4ft off the ground.  People aroung me said "wow, what a save"  I said I had nothing to do with it.  Dumb luck.  And yes, this type of taildragger (and most) need constant right rudder on take off.

Harry

Great...I'm in the process of building a gp decathalon. My first tail dragger. Hopefully I won't biff it my maiden flight like this character almost did. Looked like it flew real nice after the dicey take off.

Not sure about your definition of a torque roll.

Looks like a Nosen Citabria.

Amazing and it wouldn't have survived if it wasn't overpowered....
