a paper towel with acetone, the acetone melts the adhesive and pigment..its quick and easy, use acetone generously, MEK works just as well

The acetone or MEK does not attack the Monocote film, so, to be effective it needs to get under the film to attack the adhesive. Work under an edge and ease the film up as the adhesive is softened. However, not all of the color will be removed as it may have penetrated the wood.

Some heat from an iron or gun may help soften the adhesive, but be careful with the gun around the solvent, as both are highly flammable and not good to good to inhale.

Good luck.
