i have a scx10 based trail rig that i run on the trails of local parks and right now it has a futaba 3pd fm radio (waterproof box for the reciever) and when i go into a creek or river i still have control. i was thinking about going to a 2.4ghz radio as i have a spectrum dx3c, and i was wondering if the spectrum would still have control underwater at about 1 foot deep.

Status: offline 		Probably not. The submarine modelers learned right away that 2.4Ghz does not work underwater, so they have to stay with 75Mhz themselves.

Status: offline 		27mhz would be better underwater IMO
the lower the frequency the better it propagates underwater.

I've owned RC subs, and a 27mhz AM radio would allow me to control the sub under 4 feet of water (bottom of a above ground pool) over 8 feet away.

Oddly I think the AM radios worked better underwater getting less interference than on land
