i have a scx10 based trail rig that i run on the trails of local parks and right now it has a futaba 3pd fm radio (waterproof box for the reciever) and when i go into a creek or river i still have control. i was thinking about going to a 2.4ghz radio as i have a spectrum dx3c, and i was wondering if the spectrum would still have control underwater at about 1 foot deep.

Probably not. The submarine modelers learned right away that 2.4Ghz does not work underwater, so they have to stay with 75Mhz themselves.

27mhz would be better underwater IMO
the lower the frequency the better it propagates underwater.

I've owned RC subs, and a 27mhz AM radio would allow me to control the sub under 4 feet of water (bottom of a above ground pool) over 8 feet away.

Oddly I think the AM radios worked better underwater getting less interference than on land
