Status: offline 		  I originally designed this hull for twin outboards but have decided to build it and enter it for class A racing aswell the hull is 38" x 13 1/4" 
Iv just ordered an ASP 7.50cc nitro engine with genesis tuned pipe and manifold (which may need modding) i shall order the rest of the parts/hardware while i build the 1st hull,also need to build a radiobox but might mould 1 of these aswell for perfect fittment
So far iv built the plug and moulded it so prepping now to lay the 1st hull up
Im hoping to have the 1st done and built for the next race in september  
This is how it looks so far but with without the rear upright cowls


The moulds



Proposed setup
Theres enough room to fit 2 x 24oz fuel tanks in the sponsons
3/16 driveline with offset rudder
ASP 7.5cc Nitro engine with tuned pipe (though i did consider 10cc 1st but thought to try it 1st with this setup)

This is where i need some advice as iv never run nitro before 
What mixture/% nitro to run 
What size off props 
And do you tune the length of pipe like the gas engines 
I heard good reports on these engines and for the bucks there OK
Any help would be greatfull

Status: offline 		You wont need that much fuel Daz, I only run 8-12oz tanks in my 7.5 tunnels. You will love that smell of the nitro fuel in the air Daz!!

I need them tanks as the heats are 15 or 20 min long sometimes longer upto 30mins
i had a couple of nitro cars but im going back yrs ago LOL but running them in boats is gonna be different and the engines will be better than the 1 i used to run hopefully

Status: offline 		ill probably stich with the ASP's reason being there the only 1s i can get all the spares for with in a day or 2 as weve got a stockist here not far from me
iv looked at others but they  sell just the engines and not much spares wise etc
I have looked and the CMB but im not prepared to spend mega money on a nitro engine when some1 in the club running ASP 7.5 and staying with them no probs

Status: offline 		To answer a few nitro questions for you; I know that nitro is very expensive in the UK so check to see if the ASP's are made for low or high nitro as some manufacturers build their engines for both. I'd generally run around 45% but you may have to make do with less.
We measure the pipes almost the same way as gas engines except that we use the center of the engine (glow plug) instead of the exhaust flange as a measuring point and on a 7.5cc usually about 10-1/2" (whatever that is in metric I don't know).
Generally, the ASP's suffer from having small sport carbs from planes so they really hurt performance. Yes, CMB's are very expensive even on this side of The Big Pond. Check into Nova Rossi's as the price is lower yet will keep up with the CMB's.

been doing some research and it seems 20% nitro is recomended
Im not trying for any record speeds more consisitancy as iv decided once setup my 8yr boy will be racing it so should be fast enough for him while i build another 1 up with 10cc engine instead
The problem im having is finding a supplier for marine nitro engines here in the UK with a good back up of spares the only 1 iv found is   http://www.justengines.co.uk/index.html who retails the ASP engines at a reasonable price
can you tune the nitro engines or buy bigger/better carbs ????

When you say class-A in what series is this? And how light is the boat. We run the Go .28 motor in our Proboat thundercats and they are way over powered for the m-style course we run. I might have to see if I can buy a hull from you as a 38" hull sounds more like the size I need. What width is the tunnel part?

Class A is with the BMPRS http://www.bmprs.co.uk/rules2012.html#boatspec
Once moulded the 1st  ll know a weight of the hull and let you know 
ill have to measure the tunnel width as iv not got it too hand and cant remember of the top off my head haha

Update 
wetsanded the moulded halfs working through the grades from 320-1200g and lots of polishing to a shine
All thats left to do now is a good clean down and start the coats of release wax ready for making the 1st moulded hull

1st attempt at moulding 1 of my designs
Here we go bit the bullet and layed up the 1st topdeck and trimmed ready for experimental join
couple of brisltes and bloody wind blew some small particles into the lay up but this 1 is just practise to see how it goes and also break the moulds in
The lower is layed up just waiting for it to cure abit more before trimming the edges 
Hopefully join the 2 halves either later today of tomorrow then leave in the moulds for a couple of days before seeing the 1st ever hull iv moulded

The 1st out the moulds
abit premature but its a practise 1 and a thin layup to break the moulds in but as you see it its straight out the moulds so not come out too bad at all

Just been playing around it
theres alot of ways this hull can be run
I placed in 7.5cc nitro engine but could even fit a 10cc 
24oz fuel tank fits in the sponsons nicely aswell 
couple of it floating LOL

Even inboard FE 
Motor used is a leopard 4074,gives you some idea how much room there actually is
single setup
or twin setup

and the twin OB off course either FE or Nitro that it was designed for no pic of them yet as only have 1 LOL

Sorry bud forgot you asked about the tunnel width
the width is 160mm or  just over 6 1/4 " 
should be perfect for the length hull and the depth of the tunnel
