Hi folks!

I just charged and cleaned my savage x4.6 this weekend. Although, it started right up first turn I can't seem to get it tuned in.

I put in a brand new glow plug (medium heat) and new fuel. It started up easily enough but, would not stay running without the glow plug starter on for quite sometime. I think I might need to go to a hotter glow plug to get rid of this cold-blooded behavior.

After the engine warmed up to approximately 225 deg F. It would run fine without the glow starter on. However, the very top end of throttle the engine would bog out and behave like it was either to lean or no fuel. It would bog and lose top end power until I let go of the throttle back to say half to 3/4.

I appreciate any ideas on this.

Thanks!

Stedy

sounds like your hsn is to lean, and the lsn is to rich. richen the hsn 1/4 turn, lean the bottom 1 hr at a time until you get a good consistent idle. then run around a bit to get it up to temp, then adjust hsn for desired performance. never tune a cold engine.

Have you tried to tune the engine.  Conditions change.
