Where are the rules posted? I probably need to put numbers on my plane or something...

Magic Marker.

AMA number at least 1 inch tall for the digits. All set.

On every piece of the plane, correct? Each wing...canopy, etc?

No, I think it is just on the right wing.

Inside the fuz should have name, address, ama number, etc. and phone probably.

4.7: Identification. All models shall be identified by the contestant’s AMA license number permanently affixed to the upper side of the right hand lifting surface or to each side of the fuselage or vertical stabilizer. The height of the numerals must be at least one (1) inch. Both stroke and width shall be such as to enable ready recognition.

Bob is correct. You just need to have your AMA number, or for the Canadian's, their number on the right with in at least 1" tall letters. This will be enforced.

Sweet. And that's it? Affix my numbers and I'm ready to show up? I am excited

I flew my Yak yesterday, after spending the hot days straightening everything out. ARCH - I tried your negative expo trick on down elevator and live it! I spent 2 flights doing nothing but basically immelmann turns without rolls, practicing rudder corrections inverted and through loops. It really helped, and with the plane nice and straight I felt pretty good. That will all turn to shivers I'm sure at the show, but that's part of it I guess.

For those of us not going to the NATS what's the story?

Another good looking Pentathlon. Good luck with the maiden!

Well... It was a beautiful day (this is for Dean). I had been flying with Mark Hunt all day, 8 flights on my primary and 2 flights on the Harmony which was to be my backup at NATS.

I went to help set a base for a pylon pole and while in the field, we had a dust devil come through and like a silly head I had not staked the EZ UP to the ground since the wind was maybe 5-8mph. and we were somewhat sheltered.

SO... the EZ UP caught the plane, which was in one of Mark Hunts cradles, how it all unfolded Im not sure but when it ended the plane, canopy cradle were one.

Ended up taking a chunk out of the leading edge of a stab, punching a hole in the lower rear turtle deck, hole in the chin cowl area, tear up the earlier repair around the gear and then also it twisted and delamintated the carbon gear leg.

SO... I have since made repairs, have new gear in ready to test hop sunday as well.

Chuck

Always amazes me how you can go all summer without any problems and right before the nats all hell starts to break loose.  I just had a batt ejection through the canopy, only had 16 cycles on the set and its lost in the corn somewhere, canopy looks like crap now, but will have to do.  First time I've ever had it happen.  Nats is a perseverence event.

Well I think we had 9 out today at the FARM club. We called it our "Mini-NATS". If my count is right we will have 10 or 11 attending the NATS which is just under 10 percent.

Chuck, I'm sorry to hear about your plane's disagreement with the EZ-Up. You sure did the repairs fast. Good luck with both maidens today.

Who is going to be recording and posting flights this year? Those of us not going to the Nats will want to see flight videos along with the daily updates.

The daily scores will be on the NSRCA NATS 2012 website within 30 min of flying Monday and Tuesday. Wednesday scores will be held until the banquet. The new scoring software makes it incredibly easy to get this info out. Thanks to Scott Smith for developing the new software and Derek Koopowitz for creating the website.

Sure wish I could be there, think 83 was the last NATs I flew in.
I've got twin Granddaughters Birthday, and a wife's Anniversay that always seems to conflict with the NATs dates .
Know the two Mississippi misfits, and my Bud Mike Williams will be there to keep the Intermediate flyers honest.
Looking forward to hear a play by play report.
All you guys have fun, guess I'll just pratice on the new 2013-14 sequences, he he he.

Arch,
I assume you mean that scores will just be withheld from the website on Weds, not from the competitors. Paragraph 8 of the Competition Regulations Generals requires that competitors see their detailed scores from the previous flight before their next flight. I had to remind Dave Guerin of this a few years ago, when I was refused my cut sheet from my next to last flight at the Nats by the score keeper; he took care of it and I didn't need to protest. Technically, it is also required before prizes are awarded and winners announced, but I didn't press that point. I know you are a stickler for the rules, but I thought I'd get clarification.

Jon
