I bought the Aiptek Pocket DV2 to mount on my 1.20 Ultra Stick with MDS 148 and an APC 16/8 prop. I tried the camera today and didnt like where it was placed. The camera was placed in front of the servos on the servo tray, laying on its side and the lens was sticking out of a hole in the side. We built a box out of balsa and padded with foam rubber to mount the camera behind the wing for a different spot. We cut a hole out of the balsa sheeting on the top of the fuse and behind the wing to put the box. Im wondering if the camera and the box placed where it is now will throw the CG out of wack quite a bit...? If it does can i add more weight up front to balance it again without having to make the fuse more sturdy to hold the weight? The wing has been fiberglassed at the middle. Also i know the MDS is known for quite a bit of vibration and the video is kinda wavy. We have the rubber engine mounts installed; is there a good way to cut down some of the vibration?

I have tried to upload the video of todays flight onto my computer and it wont open into the camera. It will work on live mode but not for DV disk mode; I have windows XP. Do any of you know how to get it to work?

Please help because i dont want to fly until i get some good feedback, your answers will be much appreciated. Thank you.

The 'wavy' image is a problem with the AIPTEK. The camera wiggles sideways and due to the scan mode images show this wiggling.
The most positive way to eliminate the waves is to shoot images with the motor off. Practical only with electric power.
Otherwise you have to experiment with placing the camera where vibration effects are minimized.
I've placed mine on a slab outside the fuselage under the wing on a Kadet (OS 70) and gotten wave-free images.
The foam will actually increase the wave effects, as the camera can wiggle in it.
The video driver as supplied with the camera doesn't appear to work. You need to go to the AIPTEK website and download the driver they have there.
As for the c.g., check before and after. Add lead as needed, where needed.

You'll have to ask Aiptek if they supply a driver for the DV2 like they do for the Pencam..
