The final tally is due out this afternoon (Tuesday the 9th) and as of Monday we were close to 1400 flights. There is also a new record for the most flights by one individual in one day. The new record is 75 and was set by Bruce Fraser! Here is what he said about the experience:

I fueled and started the engine on every flight myself. That meant I needed to walk out to the center of the circle each time. 120 feet per flight, over 9000 feet walked.

The final tally of the Fly-A-Thon is in and Richard Grogan reports that we totaled 1685 flights!!!

We missed our goal of 2000 flights but broke last year's record total of 1505!!! Unfavorable weather in parts of the US and Canada may have played a part in keeping us from reaching our goal because these two countries contribute large numbers of flights. We will keep that goal of 2000 flights for next year and next year we will reach it!!

New countries this year that joined us were South Korea and the Netherlands!! Australia again did a great job along with Canada, England, Brazil, South Africa, and Italy.

I will attach a PDF file of the Final Tally for you to download and view.

THANK YOU to all that helped us break last year's record!!!

I know it does not count, but I flew U/C for the first time in 35 years last Friday with a borrowed Ringmaster! Looks like I'm back in the game...

We flew the Ringmaster Fly-A Thon on Saturday at KMFC in Sydney Australia
With I think about 6 or 7 models for a total of 203 flights for the day.
A great day had by all, even in the rain.
