Again we had a great week-end here at Offaly -jets

and it was great to see yet again some more new faces Martin S with is boomerang XL Wren 120 , Steve P with his savex L39 and Habu and not least Mike H with his Harpoon Simjet 2300 AES coming into this great hobby of ours and off course to all the usual crew Bob G with his big Airworld Hawk Harry the legend with his Flash and Chris with his EDF and myself JL L 39 Simjet 3000aes ex-Vince boy and my good old Elan JC 120 SE the forecast was a bit iffy but we took a chance and it payed off well not a drop of rain all week-end and and the crack was as good as ever with the usual stay over at Rita's and Joe's where we dined and wined and the usual banter that goes with it till all hours

I would like to thank every one for coming and the next one will be real soon

cheers

Andy

Yes sure was a brilliant weekend ,although a few didnt turn up we did a lot of flying ,it felt like there were dozens of pilots ,we were certainly well entertained by Mike all weekend (he should be on TV)..it was also good to meet Martin and Steve as well,we are all firm friends now and thats exactly what its all about.
As for the local B&B now that is something else ,5 star hotel would not have a look in !!!...the hospitality and banter really made the weekend ,I could go to Offally jets without a model and still have a great time .
The Legend Harry never bent a pin all weekend ,(Dave W .will not be at all well.... no business once again )

Thanks Andreas ....we really have to work on some of the UK guys to get them to come over soon !!

On Andreas's last photo it shows how bright the nose light is on the hawk ...can you see the reflection?

Thanks Andy for the great weekend. It was an honour to have had the chance to meet with the Ledgendary pin doctor himself and to see him at work as he sorted stevo out. Amazing stuff .he really does know his grinding blades. It was interesting to hear of his new interest in facebook too and how he will be setting up his fan page due to the large number of friends he has on there. One to watch out for.
It was also great to see Auto again and to see him operating out of the comfort zone with such ease. Awwwtooooo!!!
Bob was a book of knowledge and got me sorted out too. Thanks bob. It was great to see that hawk of yours wagging it's tail like a happy dog on approach I read a good article on sambuca and flying. I believe I may have a fix for you and that wag at Rita and joes place
I was happy to meet up with Martin again too but happier when he put that jet away as he was loosing the plot great flying Martin and no more of that pansey flying !!! Can't wait to see you flying again.
Andy I think we need to sort out a private parking space too for the Ledgend. We will talk more during the week.
Thanks again all and look forward to the next meet

That is a pity as I was going to see if you wanted to come but the weather looked a bit iffy and then I thought you probably where in the middle of the season and would be at some other show let me no when you are free again and we will make it happen in the mean time this will give Harry the legend a bit more time save for his next project

here is Harry the legend at work

cheers

It was hard to get a flight in Sunday morning with you hogging the flight line with that hawk maybe if I had a pair of them designer Welles Steve had I may have been able to do more but I do think Arthur may have slowed me down a bit that morning too

Will see, things change

Great to see the new blood coming along, that was the main reason myself and Andreas setup the JMAI.

The next event is actually not that far away on the 29th July in Derry-Londonderry, on the events list as the Sunday but Saturday as well if anyone wants to make an overnight.

Next one on the calendar is 6/7th October but maybe andreas will have one before then.

Sounds good although by the look of the map it's quite the hike from Dublin.  Any GPS co-ordinates to get a more precise idea?

The club is actually located in New Building south of Derry City about 3hrs from Dublin N54°56.738' W7°21.023'

Must add a directions/GPS co-ord page to the website for Jet suitable flying clubs.

Easy to do steve just use the post reply button not fast reply click on the "Click here to upload images and files" link just make sure they are not too big 800 to 1200 wide is usually best.

Also anyone has pics please send them to me so I can put them on the JMAI website
