I the moter I have has been putting out somewhere around 320 watts on 3S with a 9x6 prop

The recommended set up says to run a 4S on the website.  The plane weighs 2.5-3 lbs
I really feel that 3S would be plenty.  I have a lot of 3S 2200 mah packs and I don't want to have to buy any 4S packs if I don't have too.

I'm just wanting some input and advice.  Do you think 3S would work is the only question I have really.

Status: offline 		If it is the smaller .25 size I think you wil be ok, but not as much power available a a 4S battery.
I think the .40 or .60 would surely be underpowered.
Which size is your plane?

I have a "Horizon Hobbies" small Electric Stick about the same size and it flies great with the 3s 1800-2200 batteries.
However I am no expert on electric motors, Esc's, batteries or whatever as my instructions recommended the 3-s and that is what I bought.
Some comments from knowledgeable people would be great for me to hear.

It seems that every time I look at another plane that I want it requires batteries that I don't already have. I feel your pain if you need to upgrade.

Status: offline 		It's the smallest size the .25 and I think you are right.  The kit I was building before the dog destroyed it was going to weigh about as much as this one so I feel that the 3S will be ok.  Any more info anyone else may have is greatly appreciated.

Status: offline 		I think someone who knows what they are talking about would want to know what motor you have and what size the ESC is.

Status: offline 		At 100 watts per pound it will certainly fly, but it isen't going to tear up the skys. I would go with the 3s and if your not satisfied with the performance then get some 4s batts.
