Pushing the right (and/or left) button when in a NI type menu should scroll thru "auto, manual, discharge, cycle" You still have to set the upper current limit though for auto.

I'm sorry, maybe it just doesn't have it. I thought they all did. Doing some checking (it'll be in the flowcharts in the manual)

Press the enter key until the charge/discharge voltage value is flashing. Then press the Increase button and the Decrease buttons at the same time. This will cycle the charge mode from MAN to AUTO

Oh - how stupid of me not to figure that out...HAHAHA., Thanks a lot for the info. I will try it out.

Any recommended settings for charging my Nimh battery, is auto better? its a 7.4v 3800 mah soft case battery. (have two lipo's coming, probably  somewhere on a plane over the ocean right now)

It can probably be set to max current regardless of type for a 3800 mah pack. But what is a softcase NIMH pack? Auto is fine if you have more time.

Softcase is wrapped in plastic wrap (kind of like shrink wrap almost) vs hardcase is like a hard plastic shell. etc.

Hmm, never seen that in a NI type pack. You sure you don't already have lipos?

Positive, I have the caldera 10E which comes with the nimh 3800 mah battery. Its "inked" in the side of it. In the mail though I have 2 Turnigy Nano Techs 2S 35C 5000mah lipos coming. These should be a marked improvement over the the stock....i think....i hope...lol.
