Status: offline 		I've only got 2... the ENYA 60XF it is !    and why ?  The other is an ASP52AII......  not that there is anything wrong with it, I just prefer the note and power of the 60

Status: offline 		Saito 450R3 W/electronic ignition. I want a giant scale "round engine" aircraft. Either an FW190-A or an F4-U Corsair & I only fly 4-strokes & Saito is the leader in 4-strokes.

I already have the following Saito 4-stroke engines.

An FA91s on spark
An FA150 on spark
2 - FA180s
A 200Ti Twin
A 300 TTDP Twin on spark

Status: offline 		YS FZ70. It will run any prop from 10x10 to 15x4 well and it's power/weight ratio is excellent.
I have experience with quite a few engines and this is my favorite.

Status: offline 		I also prefer my YS 4 stroke engines due to the power to weight ratio, while I have several glow engines of many sizes both 2 & 4 stroke the YS is my favorite.

Status: offline 		I some how purchased over 30 of them. The choice of an engine would be dependent on the plane I was building, or going to build. I really like to use engines not often seen such as a GMS .47, Sk .50, JBA .46, etc. Since my choice of aircraft is in the 60 to 80" ws sizes, I do not find a need to go for gas fueled engines. As a retired aircraft mechanic, I would rather own an ultralight plane, and fly myself around than pilot a 1/4 scale, or % enlarged model around a field.

Moving into a new hobby room has moved all of my stored stuff from every corner in the house into a pile which is a bit overwhelming to store in only one room. I hope everyone on this forum has the same problem, and enjoy being able to choose the plane and engine combination from prior purchases.

Status: offline 		Right now a Fox .50.  But I have been mostly inactive for about 6 years now.  I would have to get reaquanted with my engines to be sure which I prefer.

Status: offline 		Saito 56 for 4 strokes because everyone loves this engine for good reason.

Evolution .455 TPS for 2 srokes because it never deadsticks, puts out a lot of power, and never loads up.

Status: offline 		Well choosing only one engine is quite limiting as the model airplanes come in many sizes, shapes and forms, thus requiring different engines to meet the needs.
But I would go with a Fox Eagle IV .60 engine if it all came to push and shove. But a Saito FA-80 was a great engine too, I like it a lot.

The best engine is probably the Suevia 1.50 (25cc) engine as the Germans went over the top and over engineered the engine. But they would tend to last forever too.

HUH.......i don't have an MDS........OPS..........can you say OPS????? the engine is an OPS .65.........they are still made by OPS................but i'll bite, ED being you are very old, maybe you can post a picture of your MDS, and show us how you interpreted this OPS to be an MDS?
hauls this 100 inch span model (weighs 60 ounces) up like a rocket.............
quit RC to go back to a more challenging part of the sport..............Free Flight kicks butt............RC too easy as everything is made for you in China, and the modelers can't tell the difference between a model made here or in China......pretty sad.....LOL

HAHA..so true.
i spent 2 years building my Proctor Nieuport 11 and used a Laser 80 for power................at least 4 (what i call modern day RC enthusiasts) club members asked the stupidest questions i ever encountered from "what manufacturer builds this one".....to "why did the ARF maker put those silly looking bellcranks in the upper wing"...........2 guys thought my homemade engine would never run...........i didn't know that Laser's were homemade..............it's only one of the finest 4 strokes out there without "made in Chineese knockoff factory"

What a choice.

It would probably have to be one of my Saito 62s. Or my Laser 70. Both are bullet proof, easy to handle, economical and powerful enough for the planes I like.

Best sounding engine is a Saito 90R3. And until I started running it on 20% nitro I was getting ready to sell it. On 20% it is fun and sounds amazing.

Status: online 		I'm going to ammend my post earlier. Of the engines I have handled and own, my top 3 favorites are my Enya SS 30bb, SuperTigre S.29, and lastly is my Enya 60-4C. I'm still working the bugs out of the 60-4C, but the first two are the most reliable and best throttling.

My SuperTigre S.90K runs really well, and my K&B Sportster .65's now run well. Only Taiwanese I have is a TT Pro .46 and it runs well too.

Enya gets the top pick overall though.

Ah shucks! Some people are just no fun to play with these days.

Free flight was the very first kind of modeling that I did. Then control line and then R/C. I can hardly walk well enough to do R/C. Free flight would be out of the question.
