Hi guys, Long story short I Messed up at a local war bird show this weekend and did not see the signes. The 4.8 pack in my DX8 fried on me while doing a low pass in my TopFlite Gaint P51, with DLE55 and Kelo Muff set up.

It was a bad day to say the least.  I get $200 ever 2 weeks for my RC alowance and Just came on $700 that wife gave me to replace my bird. As much as I loved the Big P51, when I showed up at the show there were 4 otheres and to be honest the only P51 I really like is the Miss America.

Here the problem, some parts are saveable but I don't really want another mustange.

So this is whats left:

It broke my DLE55 in 1/2 but can be fixed for $150 in parts. Kelo is perfect thow.

My Robart Retracts: the upper tubes ripped off the retract, but no othere damage. Robart said $50 to fix them up.

I got a sweet Quadra 75 that has been watteing for a new home.

I got 2 DLE 30's laying around.

Servos, recivers ect are not issue as I got plenty of the good stuff from birds I have warn out.

SO I was thinking of getting a TopFlite Gaint P47 as my wife and I really like the color skeem and I belive the Q75 will work in this bird. Robart said the my retracts will fit but scale uses diffrent legs.
This would cost me around $620 for the bird and $125 to convert my retracts for the P47.  Total= $755

I could just get another TopFlite Gaint P51, rebuild my DLE55 and retracts.   This will be about $650 for bird and parts to fix the DLE and $50 to fix retracts    Total = 700  $630 if I get the ARC then fiberglass it and paint it a miss america.

Or I really like the look of the Texan that Troybuild modles sells.  $420 for bird, $320 for there electric retracts or $450 for Serrias, and I can use a DLE30 or rebuild my DLE55 for it.
So cost would be about $740 + 100 or so for shipping $840 for the Texan with there retracts or $1,020 for the bird with serrias and $150 to fix my DLE55.

The only othere bird I have beeing wanting is a P40. I had a CMP P40 with a Saito 220 4 strok, I loved this bird but only got 2 flights on it as I got it used from a guy who got it from a guy, And when I fliped it inverted to check CG the front wood tubes ripped out the wing and the wing came off.

I really like the look of the P40 that troybuilt has at $750 or so deliverd, but I im sure retracts are about $4-500 Im not sure who sells them thow.

This is my game plan, what do you guys think? Wich rought would you go?

PS: Im currently building a ESM 74in Corsair with a PTE36R right now If I new topflite was going to come out with a Gaint Corsair ARF I would of wated.

Im up for othere Ideals, I don't really want to spend more than $1k if possable.

What I currently have,

74in Corsair ESM  PTE36R
72in BF109 CMP NGH35R
71in Zero with DLE30
Hangerr 9 B25  Electric
74in GeeBee R3  BME50cc
72in Aeroworks 540 Edge DLE30
Helis.

As you can tell I love war birds, I just wich CMP was still makeing birds,

I just decomishioned a CMP Spitifire, and killed that CMP P40

Get another P-51 the bash it into a Piper P-48 Enforcer turbo prop. You wont see four other ones at your next fly in.

Another P51.Really??? Every show I go to there is at least 2 to 1 P 51s and 47s to anything else. How about a Bear, LA-7, P39, F6F, KI-61, Val, Stuka, Sea Fury, Spitfire, Tempest, Typhoon, ......I could go on , but don`t you all want something different at the flight line? I`m just asking...

I have a buddy that has a skyshark p-40 powered by a dle 55. Power wise it seemed like a good combo and you might be able to use your kelo exhaust on it.

My vote is on the Stuka, very few around, great flying charactoristics, no retracts, and its just plain EVIL looking, one of the best flying aircraft of all the Ziroli designs.....

Hey Barry, say you were having a go at it at WOD. Sorry my 109 was not ready to give them 51s hell. Next time though. We most definitely need more Axis birds in the air. Other than your Stuka and I think a 190, that was it. Not counting in the WW1 birds , it is nuts out there with the 51s and 47s.

The Top Flite P40 is another option, that is if you're interested in P40. As someone else mentioned, there is the Skyshark P40, which is no longer in production, but there are still some floating around for sale out there. You could use your exhaust on either one, but you would have to get new retracts.

P-40 and P-51 do not share the same retracts.
He'd have to buy new P-40 rotating retracts.

I belive mikes68charger wants to use the same grear from the P-51
