I'm thinking about building a quad-copter. I have a table top CNC router that I could possibly use to make some of the parts. Does anyone know of plans or drawings for the frame that I could use to cut them out with my CNC machine?

Also, where do people think is the best place to get the necessary hardware and electronics?

Any references that anyone could give me would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Mark

www.goodluckbuy.com is a good place to start. You can get the entire thing pretty cheaply.

You can get a good one at heliproz for under $500 or spend more and get more. I just got the flame wheel and it is pretty cool. I got the GPS version of it. Will just about fly itself. The gaui is good too. Get one and you can make larger ones after you learn the concept. You have to buy the gyros anyway, get the whole thing and learn a bunch. I would get the flame wheel and then make a much larger one with your setup and use the computer from the flame wheel with new engines and speed controllers. That could be cool.

Flyboy,
Thanks for your advice. I looked at Heliproz and I would be interested in the G-210001 Gaui 330X-S, but, being a newbie, there are things that I don't understand. The blurb for this kit says that it has everything you need except a battery and radio, but there is no mention of any sort of computer board in the kit. Everything else that I've seen has some sort of computer controller board, usually an Arduino board, that sits between the radio receiver and the ESC's. Am I missing something, or am I just still very ignorant of this subject?
Thanks again,
Mark

If it says complete except for radio and battery that means it has the computer board.
