I have gotten hung up in math and do not believe some of my answers. So, how many watts is needed to to hover a one pound electric airplane.

150 to 200 watts per pound for 3D

Electrical watts (input) or mechanical watts (output to propeller)??
Try using E-Calc to account for the difference.
