Status: offline 		Does anyone have a chart on pipe length/motor size? 

I've got a .40 OPS in a rigger and a .45 K&B in a 3point hydro. I'm looking to get a base length to start with from the glow plug to the weld on the pipe. 

I tried searching the forums. Maybe I'm not looking in the right place. Thanks.

Status: offline 		Start it off at 10-1/2" and see where that gets you. With 'riggers you might need to go shorter but it's better to start off long than short.

Are you saying a little shorter for the rigger because it's a .40 or because it's a rigger? 

Also tell me if I'm correct here: Lengthening the pipe will create more torque but lower the top end. Likewise, shortening the pipe will give you a higher top end but lower your bottom end.

Yup, longer pipe is more torque. A shorter pipe will give you more rpm's, but less torque.

I'll measure my pipe lengths out and make sure my fuel is ballpark and give it another try.

I'm not trying to hijack your thread, but I have a question I started to post, but this has the answers, well I have one more.  Maybe this will help others too.  I too have a K&B 45, but my pipe has a band in the center not a convergence point (or weld point).  The 10 1/2" your referencing, would this be to the center of the band on the pipe?

Status: offline 		I'm pretty sure you measure to where the pipe starts to taper down toward the stinger. I'm not really sure with some of the new style pipes though. Maybe Craig can chime back in. 

Measure to the weld on this:

I am unfamiliar with a pipe like this so I am unable to tell. I'm very inexperienced.

I'm not sure on the two nitro pipes you linked.

Normally you measure at the widest point or the middle of the widest point if it is a band pipe. I'm no expert, I just error on the long side and then shorten from there.

oops Craig I let that one out. But I like the .45 water cooled header from Glenn at Nova Rossi. I got that today. I had a $50 gift card from NLMBC
