Status: offline 		I'm an electric newbie, slowing learning by reading posts.  Is the following post correct?

Where do you plan on putting your speed controls? There has been a lot of discussion regarding long wires between battery and speed control. The consensus seems to be that you should not extend the wires between battery and speed control, but you can extend the wires from speed control to motor

lately I've read just he opposite...

btw, has anyone electrified a Jack Stafford B-24 within the past two years?  All the posts are 2009 and older.

There was a thread on here or RCG about a B24, he used (2) batteries, one in each wing powering (2) ESC's and motors so he did not have to use long power wires. He just ran a long servo extension to the Rx for control.

Status: offline 		Don't know about the RCG forum, but the definitive answer to this question can be found at the AstroFlight web site. Bob Boucher was a pioneer in e-power. Short answer is length of wires from motor to esc doesn't matter. Length of wires from battery to ESC should be as short as possible.

That thread is about an electrified Stafford B-24 and is quite recent. The airplane has been flown with good success. A lot of the thread is about the owner of the plane, who was a WWII flight engineer/top turret operator. His Stafford B-24 is modeled after "Bananna Boat" the plane he crewed. There are a couple of club members who helped him with finishing and installation of electrics.

Status: offline 		Thanks, I'll read up on it. Although I have the Stafford kit in hand, I'm still in the planning stages of this project - I think I may build Suzy Q from the 44th Bomb group.
