Here is a picture of my new fresh out of the mold SUPER CURARE. I am making very good progress,  I have been on it about a week now. It has ys 61 engine with macs header and pipe, spring air retracts, with kraft wheels!! .nose wheel is larger than usual so it folds into wheel well at a 45 deg. angle.  Wings were joined today and will get it fit to fuse Friday.

I was noticing the light reflection  on the side of the fuselage and the detail of the canopy frame on the  first picture.  The glass work seems  super smooth and should take on a great  finish with very little filling.       It's looking really good.

by the way,    we are waiting on a  update.

Frank

Absolutely beautiful hrdflite, congrats - could I ask who produced the Super Curare kit for you?

Regards,

Many years ago, a very good friend of mine built the Super Curare. It was probably the nicest model that he ever built. It was superb and beautiful, even by my aesthetics. I never did get a chance to fly the model, but I could see the improvement in my friend's flying style that model provided. It flew well until my friend made the mistake of donning a pair of polaroid sunglasses at dusk. The model's mostly yellow paint job disappeared into the evening sky. The resulting crash completely destroyed the model. What a shame. I was determined to buy/build/fly one for myself, but never got around to doing so. I am very sorry about your loss.

Here's a few pictures of a Super Curare Quality Line kit that I recently built.  Powered with a Rossi .60 and equipped with Goldberg retracts.  Flys great.

PM sent to you HRDFLITE. I think the added carbon in the fuse is a great idea. Will that be optional or standard?
I built the Super Curare in 1988 - YS .61, tuned pipe, Dave Brown retracts. flew as if it was on rails, and reacted as if it was connected right to my brain - did just as I asked it to!
Wish I had it still.

Hi ,
Just saw your thread on this plane . Looks great and wanted to know if it could be considered enough Original to be SPA legal ?
Or can you tell me the differences to a Legal ( 1976 ) Curare ? Would like to have one but don't want to build a balsa fuse .
thanks ,
Steve

Chris,

Yes, $150.00 plus shipping. Included: Fuse with imbedded carbon fiber, wing & stab cores, templates, instructions, some wood parts and some cool "Super Curare" decals. Rob said my ARROW is ready to ship. I am very pleased with Rob and his workmanship.

Leo
