Yes, can someone provide a url or contact email? Beautiful plane should sell well if we could find it easier.

Guys,

Rob is making fuses and kits from the line of Quality Line Kits produced in the 80's by Hobby Barn in Tucson. Basically, Hobby Barn re-opened.

The Super Curare shown in this thread as well as a Magic and Arrow shown in the Magic thread below were made by Rob. Anyone interested should contact him at:

Hobby Barn/Quality Line Kits
hrdflite@yahoo.com
(520) 747-3633

Here's the Magic thread:

http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_11151275/mpage_2/tm.htm

I hope that helps,

David

P.S. There are currently four main sources for glass/foam classic kits, mainly of the '80's and '90's era.

Don in California - RCAiir (frequent flyer)
Rob in Tucson - QLK (hrdflite)
Jim in Florida - RC City ( jog0723)
Dan in South Carolina (deadstick)

and if your shortened first name is longer than 3 letters, you are likely not qualified to get into the fold...

Is it me or am I preaching to the dead...!?

Come on guys, you've got to make an effort and at least read the posts! Better yet, the threads. Spoon feeding is over.

All info is in my previous post in answer to the two prior posts asking about the contacts...

Thanks for re-posting Scott.

David

PS I guess I shouldn't be too hard on partroy... 14 posts. Welcome to the forum.

Thank you for the welcome. I got too excited when I saw I could get a curare I didn't take the time to read the post. A few months ago I crashed a currare 40 I had from the 80's and thought that was it. By the way where can I go to find out what the best cleaner would be to get the fuel off the wood and fiberglass to prep for reglueing?

Marc,

Fiberglass shouldn't be an issue, acetone or alcohol will clean it. The former will also remove most paint. Balsa is another story. I'd replace any soaked wood not only for gluing purposes but also for durability.

Curare's are among the most widely available kits available whether they be all wood or glass/foam.

Use a heat gun on fuel soaked areas - this causes the oil to bubble up and you can blot it with a paper towel. Then, use K2R spotlifter to remove more soaked-in fuel from balsa. Spray it on, let sit for awhile, and then brush the wood with a toothbrush. Finally, apply some acetone to the area and wipe it with paper towels. I used this technique when I was repairing a crashed Escape. The area under the pipe was soaked with fuel residue and I didn't want to replace the top of the fuselage. This method worked and I could even get new Monokote to stick.

Jeff

Thanks guys for the help. I am determined to fix the curare 40 and buy and build a fiberglass curare 60. Now I need to figure out which one to pick.  Again, thanks. Marc

Good looking finishes on those shown. What finishes do you use most?

We've conversed here on RCU before. i used to fly at Society Of Aeromodelers field in Olive Branch, MS. until our field lease was not renewed.

Been on hiatus for a while now taking care of some more important stuff but will be back again when able. Need to stay current.
