I don't think it'll matter being a radial setup with that large cowl. either way, the mufflers for both should be hidden inside the cowl. Unlike the Dora. I'm real curious about the Zenoah G62 with a cup mount and spring starter. Just because of the extra weight the Antons need.

Your probably right, I have the TF GS P-40 and it was modeled for the DLE55, I have this plane and engine and this combo is perfect; Considering both Top Flite and DLE are distributed by Great Planes, I'm thinking the FW190 would be modeled for the DLE, not sure which one, its possible its modeled for either, that is if the Engine mounting Bolt pattern is the same for either DLE Engine.

It looked to me like a zenoah would fit in there at the 7 o clock position as it does in the Holman. Nothing was exposed with the DLE with only the cutout for the exit pipes and plug boot. The t.w. retracts pretty much fully into the well and doesn't extend down very far....but this is pretty minor. It needs a nice set of scale wheels too, but the size looked pretty close, so that shouldn't be much trouble. I just found myself saying, man, a guy could really scale this thing out with cockpit and pilot and guns and a paint job and it could be incredible. I am interested to see what you all do with yours.

Sorry, I don't know about the 1 or 2 piece wing. I might have asked, but I was too busy eyeballing it I think. The outline is good I thought, and, believe me, I was looking for faults.

kahloq, what motor/ battery combo though?

looks like electric could be expencive?

Rimfire 65cc depends on where you buy it.....I bought one for $219 for my ESM dora9. Retail is 279
castle hv2 160 esc ... depends on where....I got one for $209 off of ebay. Retail is 279
Turnigy nanotech 6s 6000mah at $74 each. Need two for a 12s setup...$150

$560 total for the power system.
For longer flights you could use two 8000mah 6s at $109 each.
You could use a turnigy dlux 160 esc which will run 12s for $120 which woul save $100, but im running the castle to be safe.

That rimfire can turn a 26x12 3 blade prop or you could run 22-24" 14 pitch prop. Ive got a 22x14 2 blade for my 65cc rimfire for the dora9

A rear exhaust DLE 55 at tower is $420.

In my case though, the 6s 6000 batteries are already used in my esm me-110 so arent exactly part of the total power plant cost for me.
Total cost for me is the same as a dle55 then.

Did anyone happen to ask if it would become available as an RTC (their term for ARC), like the mustang and P-47?

This puppy screams for an electric conversion... The 8000 pack might work well because it is a short nose 190, and it will need a lot of led to balance... The hatch has a perfect base for the packs that can extend all the way into the cowling, one on each side of the Rimfire...
A shame they did a one piece wing. Will be a pain to move around and in and out of the house. But, nobody is perfect:-)

My smaller esm 190A took a snot load of weight to balance as far forward as possible, so yup.....anything you can get up front will help more then likely.

Eery ARF has its faults. The only major one on this one, as far as I can see, is the V-shape of the wing.

It's too small.....

A chronic problem with Top Flite warbirds, lack of dihedral.

Yes, TF chose the mechanical retractable tailwheel to simulate the full scale retractable tailwheel, which did not fully retract into the wheel well. Using an electric or pneumatic retractable tail wheel allowed for full retraction of the tailwheel into the wheel well which would not be scale IAW full size FW-190.

Roger

Quote from the assembly manual.

RETRACTABLE LANDING GEAR
The Top Flite Giant Fw 190A-3 ARF has been designed
for Robart pneumatic and electric main gear retracts
and mechanical tail gear. The tail gear on the full size
Fw 190A-3 did not retract fully into the fuselage. To
obtain the scale retraction of the tail gear, a mechanical
retract was used.
